You should probably post this in the Italy ports section, not the "other" section. The Italy section is quite active and you'll get a bunch of responses.

The short answer is "the train". You can do a search here and also on you tube and find lots of information. Also google ron in rome.

Cheapest is the train. Best is private car. There were 5 in our party and it was a pretty good deal. If there are only the 2 of you, it's more expensive. We used Bob's Limo (RomeInLimo). They did the following transfers for us: FCO to hotel; hotel to ship; ship to hotel; hotel to FCO. Having 4 transfers entitles you to a 10% discount and if you can get a few others to combine and go with you, this is not only economical, but saves you lots of time and trouble. We loved it.
