Wonderful review!!!

We just did celebrity for the first time this past April. An inside cabin in the carribean. I just booked the two transatlantic in April next year in an Aqua Class. I could not be more excited!!! Your review is highlighting some of the places we will go and is very very helpful.

Here's an update for you. We just took the April eastbound transatlantic to Barcelona on the Solstice's sister ship, Equinox. Fifteen nights and it was wonderful! We were so inspired by Barcelona that we had to see it again. I must confess to being a little apprehensive before leaving about spending a week on the Atlantic Ocean but the days just flew by. We attended several lectures, did a lot of walking on the deck as the weather was just cool enough that it was comfortable, and relaxed with new friends. Transatlantics, as you can imagine, are very sociable cruises and we met lots of really nice people on board. We have another TA lined up for 2014. :D

I love the idea of the wine tasting on the lawn. Is this done often? I think this is a fantastic idea and would be more than willing to pay that price.

We thoroughly enjoy the lawn on the S class ships. Your sommelier can give you the list of upcoming lawn picnics for your cruise. On the transatlantic, we went to one as the ship was leaving the port of Tenerife. The wine tastings seem to be held when you're leaving the most scenic ports, and for good reason! It's really lovely to be up on deck with a gorgeous view, music playing, and wine and cheese. Don't miss out.

Just as a sidenote, too, you can make your own wine party picnic. There are beach towels stacked up on the walkway that's in between the lawn and the Sunset Bar. Get yourself a drink from the bar, maybe a plate of sushi from the Oceanview Cafe downstairs (available daily at 5 pm), and lay the towel down and enjoy! We had brought a pack of cards with us so we often met friends at sunset and played a game on the lawn while sipping our wine. The nice thing about the lawn is that when there's not a hot glass show or bocce ball game going on, it's a very quiet place. No piped in music. What a treat!

Have you been here? It's a wonderful city and we will have a new cruise terminal next year

Hubby has but this is my first trip-we picked Princess for this trip becasue of their leaving from SF. He is taking me to Muir woods and Napa Valley post cruise. (plus we have a day put aside for Sf) We do have port stops both in San diego and LA but I wanted to see the Napa Valley and some of those big trees the most.
