Langley Cruisers Posted July 26, 2012 #5 Share Posted July 26, 2012 Thank you. We have a family member who is diabetic so this is important to know. Yes, the sugar free desserts are available but they still have carbs, of course. Your family member will know to still be careful of these items. . Ladysilver Posted July 26, 2012 #6 Share Posted July 26, 2012 There is Splenda, and there are always sugar free desserts We are also traveling with two Diabetics on our cruise. Are there any "lower" sugar breakfast juices avaliable? And besides the tea and of course water, are there any sugar-free beverages that are free of charge? Thanks. :)

No. And besides the tea and of course water, are there any sugar-free beverages that are free of charge? There are supposed sugar-free flavored waters (usually 2 flavors) but since the nutritional information was not available, I was not going to take anyone's word for it, so to speak. As diabetics must be absolutely certain what goes in their body, I wasn't taking any chances. The iced tea is unsweetened and I used two packets of the yellow sweetener (Splenda substitite). I thought it was delicious and I enjoyed it very much; others here do not like the iced tea. .

Normally, you would arrange this ahead of time with Royal's Special Needs department. If you don't arrange it ahead of time, seek out your headwater as soon as you board. They normally would bring the next day's menu to you and ask you to pick something that they would then cook special for you. Edited to add this from Royal's website: Wherever our ships can go, you can, too on a vacation designed to accommodate you. Guests with special-needs consideration can cruise in comfort with total peace of mind. For more information, call the Royal Caribbean Access Department at (866) 592-7225, email special_needs@rccl.com , or visit our Accessible Seas program page. Note that there is an underscore "_" between special and needs in the email address.
