What does VIFP on my boarding pass indicate?

I was looking over my boarding pass and I see the letters VIFP on it. This is my first cruise so I am not expecting VIP status. Thanks somebody for clearing this up for me.

I almost always cruise INSIDE or OCEANVIEW, but even if its your first cruise, if you have a category 11 or 12 cabin booked you get preferential boarding (used to be called VIP boarding).

Not sure about those categories, If I'm wrong, however, I am sure I'll hear about it. :D

Hi Chuck. It stands for Very Important Fun Person. This is how Carnival is 'tracking' your cruise history that will eventually move you from Blue to Red to Gold, etc. statuses.

Doesn't mean you will get VIP benefits. But, you will likely have a great cruise and have great service!!

the VIFP means 'Very Important FUN Person'. the number that is included with it is your guest number. it can be used for future Carnival bookings
