I booked a cruise leaving on Feb 17th. I know that Superbowl is the first Sunday and Mardi Gras ends the Tues before we leave. I'm still noticing that hotels don't have availability the weekend after Mardi Gras. I've searched for a calendar but... don't really see anything that I can find going on in New Orleans. .. Anyone know why hotels are still very expensive and not much available? I thought booking this weekend that it would be easy to find a place to stay?? Now.. I'm not so sure.

Probably because many people tend to stay for the week or its Valentines Day weekend.

Try the Holiday Inn in Gretna. They run great cruise specials. They are just across the river and like 10 mins from the port.

I was able to book at 4.5 star on lastminutetravel for under $200.00 a night for the 15th and 16th. I called them and they told me the name of the hotel before I booked.
