Promenade Room - Elevators Noisy? Above Promenade Cafe, Good To People Watch?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

We were looking to do a promenade room on the mariner of the seas. We have never had a promenade room, only an inside.

We were looking at 7559, above the shops, but looking out to the promenade cafe. Is this a good cabin for people watching? What about noise after midnight?

The elevators are only 4 cabins away. Anyone have any thoughts about the foot traffic and noise?

Thanks fellow cruisers!

Love those rooms! They can be noisy during parade times but we have never had a problem trying to sleep. I think any of the rooms would be great for people watching. We have always stayed on the top level of the promanade rooms. Just know people can see in your room with the blinds open. We have really enjoyed staying in these rooms! Enjoy your trip!

It is so much fun to sit in the window and people watch! And watching the Promenade cafe is even better....to see when it's not very busy and a quick run down for a snac, is easy. 7th deck is better so that you rarely have any noise from the Promenade and are above and below cabins. You made a great choice. Have a wonderful trip.

We were on the FOS in Promenade rooms 7615 and 7617 in June. We really enjoyed them. We didn't hear a peep in our room except for the two events on the Promenade in which the music was muffled. That wouldn't keep me from booking the rooms. We didnt hear foot traffic or the elevators. We were a bit further down the hall from the elevator.

We agree with all the other responses.. Have now spent over 60 nights in Promenade cabins, incl 6th and 8th deck.. IOHO the "best" location is opposite the cafe on deck 7.. :D

P.S. Only prob is for you to remember to close curtains when dressing :p Many others dont:o
