Oasis- Which restaurant should we pick for "paid" dining?

Recommended Posts

This is going to be BF's first cruise (Oasis, E. Caribbean), and I know he's been wanting to try a "pay for" restaurant on the Oasis.

Of all restaurants to choose from, which would you recommend we try for our one special dinner?

Really, really hard to ask someone elses opinion about great food. I've eaten at them all and prefer Chops. You should really check into the Chefs table. WITHOUT a doubt thats the best ticket on board. If you are a foodie that is.

We have eaten in all the specialty restaurants on the Oasis. The best was the Chef's Table. Then in order Giovanni's Table, Tapas in Vintages, Solaruim Bistro, Chops and 150. Just our opinion. I am sure you will get a whole lot of different responses.

150 Central Park is at the top of my list. Chops is at the bottom (didn't even compare to the type of steak houses I'm used to). It's all about preferences and what you are used to when dining. I loved the tasting menu and creative, fresh seasonal dishes that were at 150. The cucumber martini there is also extremely tasty.

I would say Chef's Table first, best food and paired wines. If you are looking for something more intimate, i would say Cafe 150.

If you're both true foodies I would go with Captain's Table or 150 Central Park. If you love really good food but are not very adventuresome eaters then I would choose Giovanni's (great food!!) If you are Meat & potato folks go with Chops. Don't get me wrong... They are all outstanding! It really just depends on your personal tastes.:D

I would suggest 150 central park as a choice #1, Giovanni's #2 and Chops #3.

If you do deside to go to 150 central park (which was by far more of a fine dining place) its $40 per person. But if you get a package for $65 per person you would get to try all 3 restaurants. And we thought it was a really good deal.

Chops isn't for steaks only......we don't eat steak, so I can't speak to the quality of their steaks. We do eat a lot of chicken and seafood though and Chops was the best meal we had all week on Oasis---well, it's really close between Chops and the Solarium Bistro (both for dinner).

Giovanni's. Follow the servers suggestion. Share everthing they serve.

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but I have an odd question...

My TA has given us a dining certificate for two to use on board.

Do you think I can use the credit ($50) toward two reservations for the Chef's Table? Or would I be better off paying for that and using the credit somewhere else?

I have no idea how many "pay to eat" options there are on board Oasis, nor how much they cost.

Ann
