Crocs and Cave tubing

No...not as in crocodiles....the shoes?!

 

I'm wondering if wearing Croc shoes is appropriate for cave tubing? Water can flow into/out of them easily, and they are very easy to clean if they get dirty, plus they stay on your feet with straps.

 

Any thoughts?!

I wear Crocs all the time in the water. They do float so I would make sure they fit correctly and the heel strap is snug.

I think that is a wonderful idea. They would be perfect as long as the strap is tight enough and they don't slide off.

They are the Mary Jane type...so two straps....they got my through Disney without problems...so I think we are set. Besides....I could NEVER convince DH to wear water shoes, ha ha!:D

I have been cave tubbing in Belieze and I would not recommend crocs for that activity. For one you have to hike through through the rain forest which would most likely not be a problem, but getting into the tube, by jumping off the big rock or setting down is very tricky. Take the crocs for before or after you get out of the river but not for the ride. I recommend you use old sneakers or other water shoes for the tubbing. Also, if they come off you will be out of luck, no going back to fetch them.
