Picked up in Galveston?

We are going on a cruise from Galveston in November, and staying with friends in Houston for a few days before and after the cruise. I have been on several cruises before, but always just caught a cab or a bus to the airport after the cruise.

 

Our friends have offered to drive us to the port and pick us up at the end - but just wondering how that would work? Is there a pick-up point in Galveston where you can meet up with friends? We probably won't have a cellphone with us.

They should be able to pick you up curbside at the terminal, but failing that you could walk across the street to the Starbucks, if it's open.

Thanks, good suggestion. They are taking us for lunch before the cruise so I will look out for the Starbucks.

Starbucks is at 23rd and terminals at 25th

There is concrete walk and opening in fences in front of terminals at 25th,

Walk across street to in front of office building at Strand St and can easily wait there .

 

We always have someone pick us up terminal though with minimum effort.
