boatnsan Posted May 15, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 15, 2005 There is a bus/train combo offered from Skagway to Fraser and return, offered for $85.00. This is offered through http://www.pioneer-rv park.com, or http://www.yukonalaskatouristtours.com or info at yatt.ca. You can take either the bus first or the train first. The bus first is recommended since it allows you the view of the Lynn Canal and the ocean, as well as Skagway itself, as you descend off the White Pass summit into Skagway. Has anyone taken this? I have not read about it anywhere else. It is a better deal than what is offered through the cruise lines or from whitepassrailroad.com. Any info on it is appreciated. MtnManX Posted May 16, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 16, 2005 if you come to skagway by cruise ship then use the $85 to goto the yukon and see emerald lake (the whole trip is beautiful) you should check out a company called Southeast Tours (we went with them). but if you drive to skagway enjoy the train bus combo
Yukon Posted May 16, 2005 #3 Share Posted May 16, 2005 YukonAlaska is the railway's official carrier - those train/bus combos are a great deal, because the extra distance to Fraser by train, and the bus back to Skagway, are free. Another example - the bus from Fraser to Carcross is $10 (compare that to excursion prices!). Murray
boatnsan Posted May 17, 2005 Author #4 Share Posted May 17, 2005 Thank you for the info on Southeast Tours. It seems like a great trip. Is the tour narrated? I went to their website and they seem to offer wonderful trips.
