Is there a problem bringing an open unfinished bottle of liquor back into the states?

 

No problem whatsoever. Last cruise we received several bottles of wine and champagne (one from a friend, another from the casino, etc) onboard and brought the majority of it home. It is not counted against your liquor purchases from the islands as you (or someone for you) purchased it on the ship. We also cruised NCL earlier this year and brought home three leftover, open bottles of liquor from that cruise (not purchased in the islands but rather came with our suite). Never been an issue.

 

P.S. The only thing I would recommend is if it has been opened, make sure to put it in the trunk of the car going home as it is considered an "open container" in the interior of the car should you get stopped for some reason. Just an FYI.

Since you are calling to place a BV order can you get a receipt? You know, just in case your bottle isn't in the cabin when you get onboard and you have to prove your purchase? Will they email or mail you something showing you paid?

Yes, they can email you a receipt. However, you must specifically ask for them to do so, they do not just email one automatically.

Out of these optios, I would go with the Prosecco...it's an Italian sparkling wine, and I think it tastes lighter and fresher than champagne. We buy it often at home (prices at home range from $10-20)...and it makes a fantastic Mimosa or Bellini.

Exactly.. Thats why my sign and sail was only $80 last cruise. And thats because I wanted to "switch" from my rum and coke every once in a while. Worth every cent.
