hollywood heather Posted April 28, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 28, 2004 Has anyone ever had to get from london to southhampton before. We do not want to take a train. We didn't know if someone knew of a business that did this or a tour group. Any help would be thankful.
karenr810 Posted April 28, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 28, 2004 My husband and I are taking the Royal Princess out of Southhampton on May 31. I am trying to find out the best way to get there from London. We may be on the same ship. Hopefully we can get some help from an experienced traveler. cberge Posted April 28, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 28, 2004 Here are 2 links that you may want to start checking out..if in £'s just double it for $'s. http://www.london-transfers.com/ http://www.4rfv.co.uk/brieflisting.asp?scategory=65&company=5746&start=0 The first one is for Ray's that a lot of people use to go into London from the airport. The train IMHO would be the best way to go unless it is to tour along the way,and maybe someone else will have the name of a company for that for you. Bev Posted April 28, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 28, 2004 Hi We had researched “transfer services†as they’re called on the Internet, got several quotes (some must have thought we wanted to buy the vehicle not just be driven from point A to point B) and made arrangements with Lloyd Martin, who runs a transfer service from Dover. Unfortunately, Lloyd Martin ceased the transfer operation at the end of 2002. He now recommends Tours of the Realm at www.toursoftherealm.com I have corresponded with Denise, the proprietor; here's her contact info: Denise Ryeland, Proprietor, Tours of the Realm Hammond House, Limekiln Street Dover, Kent, CT17 9EE, England Tel: 01304 248 304; Fax: 01304 240 374 http://www.toursoftherealm.com enquiries@toursoftherealm.com And info about the service: 1-4 passengers £125.00 ; 1-6 passengers £140.00 You could contact Denise to see if her service includes Southhampton. SteveS Posted May 6, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 6, 2004 Two years ago we took the bus from the Victoria Coach Station to Southampton. It's then a short cab ride to the ship. The cab dispatcher is inside the bus station. We took the bus to Heathrow on our return. It's a low cost fun way to go. Jacqueline Posted May 6, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 6, 2004 I use John at www.yourmaninlondon.com.uk\ He is very dependable. I used him 2 years ago when we took teh Brilliance of the Seas rountrip from Harwich. We also stayed at a hotel before hand and he did all out transfers. My son left a bag in the car and he made a special trip back to our hotel at the end of the day to return it. Since thien he has kept in touch. We are using him again this summer.
