pyrrhus Posted May 26, 2013 #7328 Share Posted May 26, 2013 Easiest de embarkation ever! Other than the hold up. I seriously recommend easy walk off. I saw a lot of people waiting for their color to be called. Except for those of us with flights a little later in the day and nothing to do with our luggage.... I guess I want to have my color called... last.
pyrrhus Posted May 26, 2013 #7329 Share Posted May 26, 2013 So back home, trying to get Internet to launch the review. But my moms IPad is not allowing it. I'll try some more. Maybe airport Internet. About the motion, trust me at it 8ft it was worse. You can notice it from the movement in the water in the pool. At 20 it was not as bad. I am not sure if maybe the wind had to do something with it. Although at 22 the ship shacked and rumbled much much more. Just not the slow roll from side to side and rock as we had with the 8. Although you are right, later on it increased from 8 to 10. I wonder if the wave heights made the difference or the angle the waves and ship were meeting at the various heights.
pyrrhus Posted May 26, 2013 #7330 Share Posted May 26, 2013 When I said fix everything, what I meant was they need to work out the kinks that's causing the hour to hour an a half wait after being seated ( if I remember correctly that's what Gambee said ). Yes I know it's not like the old ship designs. I have done my research and know that this ship and all modern ships are nothing like the Olympic or Titanic. Please don't think just because I've yet to cruise that I'm ignorant of how they work. I know how things in the hospitality business works, I've worked in all parts of it. From where I stand, I see it as there must be something new or confusing for everyone to learn, or it's everyone decided to eat dinner all at once. All I'm trying to say to people is don't jump ship just yet. I think you took it a little harsher than i meant it. I apologize.

a2stylist Posted May 26, 2013 #7344 Share Posted May 26, 2013 We are almost back to home in upstate NY and had a great time despite a few issues. It was our first cruise , so we have nothing to compare it to really :) Here is my 36year old married female "Take" on the Breakaway. Sorry in advance if I jump all over. The iconcierge App worked like 10% of the time. It was horrible. We asked about the issues (several times) and they said it was a "large &widespread Issue" Manhattan room was the only free restarting we had a long wait time at. Savor gave us a 30 min wait time one evening and told us we could wait in casino so we did to pass time, 45 mins later and no page we went back and were told our table had been given away but were promptly seated with apology. After gs pissed us off with no explanation of OB's newly increased up charge we opted out. Although we had planned to try to get in :( Did anyone dine there? What were your thoughts if so? We were in 14788 balcony, I called Thursday about getting a day pass for the spa for sat, and were told no day passes for sea days(no big deal)but was then told I had the spa included with my room? ( we did not have a spa room) I went down and they insisted yes, I got god thermal spa pass free! Well, it woulda been nice (even of it wasn't true) to have known sooner ;) We did spend some time there Saturday afternoon, although I did end up paying for a facial that morning anyhow. Last night was cut short by dh not feeling well( he didn't take his bonine while in port then forgot until seas got rough yesterday!) so I was glad we saw BTF earlier in the week as we missed our 9 reservation last night. My stomach Hirt from laughing after leaving second city Friday night. We're any of you there? Had I known how much we'd love it I woulda booked another! ROA was ok. I kinda had higher hopes. Loved Cagneys. LeBistro was good. La Cucina was one of dh's favs. I think the Aps and deserts were better than most entrees. Never got gelato we stuck to the garden cafe' ice cream ;) my dh was in love with the bread pudding in all of the mdr's. Bienjamin (Ben) was our room steward,he was amazing! We really didn't get to use outdoor areas much other than h2o to catch some sun.
a2stylist Posted May 26, 2013 #7345 Share Posted May 26, 2013 Food was coming up slow. It took almost 20 minutes for the appetizers, almost 30 minutes for the main course to come after the appetizers, and then it forever for our plates to be cleared and then for the dessert menu to come out. I think part of the problem was HUGE parties in the MDR, we saw a party of 20, 14, 10, and some groups of six. Service was fast and wonderful during our stay in Bermuda. Yesterday at O'Sheehan's for lunch was a madhouse. The appetizers and lunch course came out at the same time. I had my food 10 minutes before my husbands came out. He got his burger and then five minutes later his appetizer showed up. Good luck to this sailing today. 1300 kids are going to be onboard, it will certainly be a madhouse. The waterfront was never really crowded even on a nice sea day there was plenty of room! The hot dog cart is nearly impossible to find!!! I agree! We were at O'Sheehans yesterday at noon too and we only ordered apps. Worst service we had all week! We left after that. I too saw lots of large parties at MR ;( I'm sure that played a role in the slowness and long wait.

Rare insidecabin Posted May 26, 2013 #7347 Share Posted May 26, 2013 1.5hr-2hr is standard dining time on most ships. If you want to do it quicker you should be asking for prompt service from your waiters.
