SKAGWAY Question

If we are scheduled to arrive & do arrive at 10am how long do we need to allow to get off and get to the visitors center or a shore excursion place. Also how long would we need to allow for reboarding at 7pm? A half hour or??? It is confusing to know what to do while in Skagway there are so many options.

As soon as the ship docks, and the gangplank is put in, you can get off. There is usually no wait unless everyone is trying to get off at the same time. If you have no schedules excursions, wait 15 minutes and most of the crowd will dissipate. As far as getting back on, again, if you do this a few minutes before the ship is suppose to leave, everyone else will be there too. You have to go thru the bag screening and have your ID swiped, but it all goes very quickly, not more than 10-15 minutes, even in a crowd.

the times we have cruised to Alaska... once we had to wait to getoff the ship while people who had bought their tour on ship got off first:mad: i can't remember the name of the cruuise line! most of the time we could get off right. most of the cruise lines in alaska want you to be on board 30 to 45 mins. before saling. enjoy skagway to the fullest, find away into the yukon, its special;)
