camper49 Posted August 23, 2012 #6 Share Posted August 23, 2012 One of our booked cruises went up $50 three days ago, so i was pretty sure it wouldn't be a sale for us!! No price drops means we booked at a good price to start with!!

Vettebuf Posted August 23, 2012 #14 Share Posted August 23, 2012 Neither of our cruises have changed since we booked. Oh, well, maybe we'll get a little extra OBC when we get close to the cruise dates.
misstopgun Posted August 23, 2012 #15 Share Posted August 23, 2012 Mine went up $40 overnight. Thank goodness I applied for my $20 price drop yesterday.
cruise pup Posted August 23, 2012 #16 Share Posted August 23, 2012 Mine did not change. Hopes up for nothing but par for the course with Carnival sales. It's the same with Royal Caribbean. Whenever they have a "Wow" sale it turns out to me a "Meh" sale. You do much better with their weekly specials.

H82seaUgo Posted August 23, 2012 #18 Share Posted August 23, 2012 the only "sales" i ever see are the least desireable rooms they are trying to offload after placement and selling upgrades. see a price drop on your room? you most likely are in the aforementioied
waldocruiser1 Posted August 23, 2012 #19 Share Posted August 23, 2012 This is what I saw also, both of mine stayed the same. Strange they can get away with fake sales.

NCTribeFan Posted August 23, 2012 #21 Share Posted August 23, 2012 See! I said it in the thread with the "insider info" that this sale was coming. I absolutely knew there'd be a thread complaining about how the sales aren't sales. But of course they're sales! It's all marketing, people! It's to get NEW cruisers to cruise! Sales aren't designed to give already-booked Cruise Critic members price drops. Sheesh. Every single time we have threads like this. Do people only book hoping the price will drop? Maybe I just have really excellent timing, but the prices for my cruises rarely drop. Maybe I'll start booking when the price seems high so I can get really excited because I get a few dollars drop! Woot!
Fourkids4us Posted August 23, 2012 #22 Share Posted August 23, 2012 I got $30 back. So Im up to $130total back on my November cruise. I paid for upgrades and since upgrades are free for this sale I got the refund.

Probably not the best room to some, but we are certainly excited about it.
vache Posted August 23, 2012 #24 Share Posted August 23, 2012 Our cruise went down $90 each, I submitted the form hopefully it's approved. I booked under ES rate 6 months ago. I'm sure about how to verify the specific category but hopefully it will all workout. $180 would help out with those DOD
