Saint Johns New Brunswick - Shuttle to Old Town Market?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if there is a shuttle from the pier area to the Old Town Market area? We think there is one at a nominal fee but are not sure.

The only shuttle I know of is the one from Long Wharf terminal (secondary cruise ship docking area when main terminals are occupied) to Loyalist Plaza. The Saint John City Market ( I think that is what you are referring to) is 4 blocks from the Marco Polo terminal and 5 blocks from the Diamond Jubilee terminal. If you are mobility impaired, there are cabs you can take - however is based on a zone system so you will pay probably $6 for a cab even though it will be a minute or two drive.

If I misunderstood your question, please let me know so I can get the right answer to you

Thanks

As a resident of the area, I would say your posts are accurate. You can walk outside .. about 10 min, 5 of it uphill or take the inside pedway system through the malls.(flat). Entering through Market Square..just 5 min walk from the ship..this will take you to the Saint John City Market..the Oldest Farmers Market in Canada ..Saint John is very easy to get around as it is not a large city center. While there try the Dulse..purple seaweed..you will either love it or hate it...its a maritime thing..some say an aquired taste

there are vendors in the outdoor loyalist market on sundays unless it is raining hard , you will see the market as you walk up water street toward Market Square Shopping complex.

All local items..Honey, Fiddlehead jewellery..Dog gifts..Rock Vases...;)

The Pedway referred to is w/c friendly -- however searching for the elevators (3) required is interesting! They are there and part of the fun! Three levels of shopping -- easier on the way back to take the street as it is downhill! Vicki:)
