transportation....seward to homer

We were planning on renting a car to drive from Seward to Homer, but it turns out that my frequent user coupons(free rental) don't work at the Hertz Seward location. I really hadn't budgeted for a rental car for 4 days, so now I am wondering what are my other (less expensive) options are for getting to Homer from Seward? TIA!

That doesn't surprise me with Hertz here. :( Best option is taking the train to Anchorage and rent a car from there. Other options are a taxi and there is also bus that sometimes runs there.

We are arriving in Seward from our cruise ship. Then we plan to spend 2 days in Seward and 3 days in Homer. The rental car was for driving to Homer from Seward. I'm curious about the bus option. I'll have to do some more research I guess. Once we get to Homer would we need a car???

Yes you'll need a car for Homer. Even though Homer is a little town, it's spread out.
