shoesonfire Posted August 27, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 27, 2012 Does anyone know when you order online and request Vatican Museum tickets for 11 a.m., must you be there precisely at 11? Is there any variance permitted for entry with prepaid ticket vouchers? Just wondering in case we have delays in arriving as what to expect. Thanks in advance
Nebr.cruiser Posted August 29, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 29, 2012 I can't tell you for sure as we booked it like crazy to make our time--maybe were a minute or so late. However, it didn't seem that anyone cared about the time of our entry or looked at that at all. We just walked through the security (no line), took our tickets to the desk and were admitted, with no questions or problems. I wouldn't be very late, though. The reason we were practically running is because we mistakenly got in the loooong security line in St. Peter's Square that was actually for entrance to the basilica. After a few minutes we figured out we were in the wrong place. The Vatican entrance is quite a long haul from St. Peter's Square, so be prepared. The nice thing about going to the museum first was that we were able to exit through the 'secret door' at the rear of the Sistine Chapel and thus did not have to go through the massive security line for the church.
