Celebrity Gift Certificates - On board booking question

Hi all, I am very fortunate to have a bunch of celebrity gift certificates. They come with a lot of rules! ie, you must call celebrity to book, it must be a new booking, must be used to pay for the actual cruise, cannot use for obc, cannot transfer to a TA (therefore can't maximize any offers on obc etc), so while these are great, I am hoping for some information from CC members to help me get the most bang for my proverbial buck! We will be going on a celebrity cruise within two months and i was wondering about booking the next cruise while on-board.

For some reason I have never booked a future cruise whilst on a cruise, (duh, may have missed ou ton some obc).

I plan to copy the gift certificates, so that i can use them to buy the cruise onboard, knowing that i will have to mail the actual certificates in to the celebrity office. Can you tell me what type of offers/obc etc is available for booking on-board? I have identified the next cruise we want to take, and I have a good idea of the price of the cabin that we want.

Any hints/tips are greatly appreciated! thanks.......

Hi Mygreyhound66,

First the good news - Booking onboard earns OBC's of $50-$300 depending on length of Cruise. You should also receive a reduced deposit rate, and up to a 2 category upgrade, though there are some limitiations. The most notable, is that you must stay within the same type of cabin - i.e. inside to inside, outside to outside.

Now, the bad news - you probably wont be able to use a Gift Certificate for your deposit. That I know of, they only accept a credit card deposit at time of booking. Of course, you can always ask when onboard, but I do not believe the answer will be favorable. If I'm wrong about this, I'm sure another member will chime in.

I hope this helps. Enjoy your Cruise !
