CoconutJD Posted August 31, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2012 According to the LA DOTD website, I-10 is closed at exit 182 and 210 due to flooding. http://lb.511la.org/lalbweb/truckreports/routesection.jsf?section=3&view=state&text=m&textOnly=false¤t=true&route=22%3A1
paulgraff Posted August 31, 2012 #3 Share Posted August 31, 2012 I heard on the radio today it is expected to open soon, you should be good by Sunday as the water is draining now. check out nola.com for info
slybear Posted August 31, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 31, 2012 Its open-no problems with I-10 now. You just might want to check to make sure the ship makes it up the mississippi river to the port timely. Elation was a day late.

Sargent_Schultz Posted September 1, 2012 #6 Share Posted September 1, 2012 Does anyone know if I-10 is completely open eastbound to the port??? We will be driving that way on Sunday. Any info would be appreciated.:) I will be going in the opposite direction tomorrow. I'm still not sure if it is open all the way, but it should be by Sunday. An alternate route would be to take I-12 @ Baton Rouge to I-55 and then down to I-10 again. Lots of on and off ramps are still closed so I would fill up at Baton Rouge. You might not be able to find anything after.

Sargent_Schultz Posted September 1, 2012 #10 Share Posted September 1, 2012 I=10 is finally open all the way, in both directions, from New Orleans to Baton Rouge. I just drove it. Some exits and on ramps are still closed. You can drive all the way to the port, but if you go ightseeing, you can still run into traffic lights that aren't working. I saw a zillion bucket trucks and others headed for New Orleans (or other parts), so it looks like reinforcements are arriving and things should get better quickly
