Saint John, NB, CA is a wonderful place:

Yes this Mass Transit benefits all big and small:

The Saint John Transit Commission was established in 1979 to provide scheduled transit service to the city. Dear Sue Dawson,

Walking up to the market may be well.

Yet....;)

Taking the City Tour Bus ( I made a Thread about it here too ) is not a lot but gives you reference points so you may go back and see, shop, be, have fun, eat..etc..etc..etc..

Saint John, NB has as well the Numbered One Masonic Temple/Lodge in all North America. Numbered Zero is in Scotland.

There is a lot in Saint Johns, NB to do.

Even planning your routes and renting a vehicle to see the area around it is well. Roads in Canada are small as volume is not like here in NJ/NYC. Smaller roads, less traffic and great conditions help make your time on htem that much better.

Petrol is not a US Gal. but now 09/2012 the Can. $ and US $ are close. Check before you go to which CCard does not have any currency charges to convert etc.. a simple TOLL-FREE call will be able to answer your questions on that to them. Some may also and do give road planning help.

Hope we become friends on here now .

Is there a particular route that would take you to a tourist destination - something different to sea, some good shops or restaurants, that type of thing?

Thanks for the info. I am Cdn so am aware of some of that info. Yes, maritime roads are smaller and less busy; but don't expect that in Toronto or even southern Ontario - major traffic jams! LOL! Looking forward to seeing Saint John (it's been many years) so will definitely look into the transportation option mentioned.

Thanks again. Sue

Dear Sue Dawson,

Your quite welcome.

I just got in an eMail from the Dispatch Office of SAINT JOHN TRANSIT:

It is on Germain Street. It is to narrow of a street for our buses to travel on. It is only a 5 minute walk from the ships terminal.

Hope this is helpful!

Now I am not able to provide a better location, yet, but sent a reply to question which Cross Street ( Intersection )

Street of Duke? Princess? King? Union ? In between?

That Low Cost City Tour Bus will give nice overview so getting your bearings is easier again for you now.

Hi all,

I just got thie eMail in and they ( he ) said

"The Masonic Lodge is on Germain Street. The city tour leaves from Water Street. The same street the ships terminal is on."

2 different buses doing the tours. The pick-up is on Water Street across from the Barbours General Store by the Coast Guard Parking lot on the same side of the street as the ship’s terminal. We have a sandwich board with pertinent information about the tour. This is where the bus will start.

The bus will stop at several locations to disembark for washroom breaks and photo’s. Our friendly driver will answer any questions you may have during these stops. The driver may adjust the route depending on the tide schedule so our passengers will get the best view of the rapids possible during the tour. The narrated tour tells the history of our city and the present state of our community.
