When we were on the Rhapsody first week of december '04, the ship was beautifully decorated with lots of christmas trees, garlands and wreaths throughout the ship. In the lobby there was a huge display of a "gingerbread city" complete with christmas decorations, lights and a train that wound around the whole thing. Very festive!! :D

Hi cruisers,

Does anyone know when then start decorating the Explorer ship for Chanukkah and Xmas?

We may be planning on going early Dec. B2B and was curious?

Thanks in advance....:)

Safe sails

I have sailed several times the week after Thanksgiving. They start decorating during that week. There is usually nothing up at the start of the cruise. By the last morning, the ship is pretty well decorated

Last year we did a sailing during which Thanksgiving was celebrated. Before the sailing was over, the ship was fully decorated for Christmas with a large tree on deck 5 and the Information Desk was decorated as well. We even had our photos taken by the tree by the ship's photographer.

Yeah. We doing a B2B starting Dec 1st and this is the first, out of thirteen cruises, that we will be sailing during a holiday season. Now we will finally get to see a ship decorated for Christmas.

Big Bopper--Thanks for posting those wonderful pics. We will be on the 12/3 sailing of Explorer and now I am so excited to see all of the Christmas decorations. The ship looks beautiful.

The tree is assembled on the spot from some storage boxes. Depending on when they schedule that you can watch them build it. We have never been on the ship that early in December.
