russ331 Posted September 5, 2012 #1 Share Posted September 5, 2012 I'm arriving on Friday, & staying at the Sheraton overnight, before joining the NCL Gem on Saturday. Wondering whether it's preferable to take a $45 JFK Taxi or to book a car with Carmel or Dial 7? Also, from Sheraton to Manhattan Cruise Terminal... Taxi or book a car with Carmel or Dial 7? What do you recommend?
njhorseman Posted September 5, 2012 #2 Share Posted September 5, 2012 Either a taxi or car service works from JFK...usually you'll have a slightly nicer vehicle with the car service. From your hotel to the cruise terminal take a taxi. Car services tend to have higher fares for very short trips like that.

Wondering whether it's preferable to take a $45 JFK Taxi or to book a car with Carmel or Dial 7? Also, from Sheraton to Manhattan Cruise Terminal... Taxi or book a car with Carmel or Dial 7? What do you recommend? FYI The flat rate form JFK has gone up recently. From the TLC site.... Flat Fare from John F. Kennedy (JFK) Airport: For trips between (to and from) Manhattan and JFK International Airport, the flat fare is $52.00 plus any tolls using Rate Code 2 on the meter. A NY State Tax Surcharge of $.50 will be added to each trip. If passengers request multiple stops, the flat rate of $52.00 will be collected at the first stop in either Manhattan or JFK International Airport, and the meter will be activated at Rate Code 1 (standard city rate) for the remainder of the trip. The metered fare should be collected at the last stop, from the last passenger. All trips between JFK International Airport and New York City destinations other than Manhattan will use that standard metered rate.
