Reminder How Travel Has Changed Since 9/11

My wife and I got married during an RCCL cruise in St Thomas at Wyndam Sugar Bay in 2000. About 50 of our closest friends and family flew to San Juan where we went on a 3 day cruise to St Thomas, St Maartin, and back to Puerto Rico. We had both cruised many times and were both "older" in that we were both 37 years old when we married. So, we wanted a nice destination wedding for all to enjoy and it could NOT have gone any better! I just cant believe that these 12 years have gone by so fast with 2 kids and 3 different houses and lots of joy.

Speed forward to today. We have cruised 12 times in 12 years, but for whatever reason, have not gone back on RCCL. We booked a Thanksgiving cruise on Allure this year. As I was registering online, I decided to enroll in Cruise and Anchor. The site didnt recognize our wedding cruise in 2000. So, I called C&A. They had no record of us cruising! I told my wife that the cruise didnt happen, we really arent married, and our kids are illegitimate! LOL. Anyway, she goes and gets the scrapbook and finds our room keys. They had the info we needed!

The ship was called the Nordic Empress. Our dining room server was "Carmen". But here is the clincher, the name I go by is NOT my first name. I have always gone by "Jeff" and my middle name is "Jeffrey". The name on my room key was Jeff, not my first name. I registered for that cruise under a name that is NOT my real name. Of course, back then passports were not required. We just showed them our drivers license, which has my full name it but not "Jeff", and that was good enough. Today, there is NO WAY you could get on a ship under a nickname. Once I gave the C&A rep that info, she found our 2000 sailing immediately! So, I guess I am married afterall! But that experience just reminds me how much things have changed post 9/11.

it seems vote.

Your are so right! Sadly, I think yet another government agency that meant well has turned into a massive boondoggle Homeland Security.

From getting on a ship to a flight to the ship to just about everyitng else in life!

C & A also worked with us to insure we had the right points from RCI curises we took in the 70's. If you have just about anything, photos, receipts, etc. They will work with you.

Yeah, the rep was INCREDIBLY nice and patient. She could see the 3 Celebrity cruises we have been on too. But points from Celebrity, and presumably other lines owned by RCCL, dont count toward RCCL. My suggestion was that they need to combine their rewards program. RCCL should not care which line you choose, as long as its one of theirs. If I know I cant go on say Royal Carribean for my next trip, but will have to choose between Celebrity and Carnival for my next cruise, the points could be the determinging factor in which way I go. Casino Companies use the same card and point system for all of their properties. It works to keep people at one of their properties rather going to a competitor.

Huh? They don't count? I called up RCCL C&A several months ago, gave them my Celebrity Captains Club number (I'm Elite, top level, with Celebrity), and instantly became Diamond level on RCCL, got my C&A number too, and I have never sailed on RCCL!

Edit: Are you a member of the Captains Club on Celebrity? Perhaps that might be the issue. Perhaps you need to go to Celebrity, join the club and get those cruises listed?

There's only reciprocity of benefits once you hit Select on Celebity or Platinum on RCCL. If the OP only has 3 Celebrity cruises it's likely he hasnt reached that level.
