I think your thinking the table game texas hold em.Not the actual poker game that you play against the people seated at your table and not the dealer

Yeah, I am not interested in that kind of table games.....just good 'ole texas holdem, with a dealer....and live opponents.

Last May when we were in Nassau Bahamas ATLANTIS the only tables we saw in the Casino started at $10.00 and escalated upwards at a dizzying rate!!!!! Maybe if someone had a Caymen account they could play there all day. We stuck to the waterpark and lowly slot play.

Last summer, DH went over thinking he would play Poker there while we were in port. There is NO Poker Room at the Atlantis. Yes, they sponsor a couple of events of WSOP/WPT tournaments during the year, but no Poker Room for regular players. I believe they told him NO casino in the Bahamas had a Poker Room. He was very disappointed (but made up for it by "fishing" on the ship later.....)

DH is a pretty good player who has won enough money at tournaments on land to let me cruise for several years. He's not been to the Main Event yet because he can't leave work at that time. (He's won seats in Satellites.) But someday, he will make it!

At the roulette tables, the minimum bet was $10. My husband made a couple of bets and was ready to leave. He plays enough roulette that we are sailing in October on a casino rate.....so he is not a nubbie.

I went to the slots. They were DIRTY. An empty water bottle was tossed on one..and over flow ciggie ash travs were everywhere. In Addition..I sit down..in the first slots by the entrance...a man..a woman..a child of about ten come over and get into a vicious argument...The child says the man has hit him...the man grabs for the child..the Mother just howls.....I went to a security person (?) told her..told her I knew it was not the USA but the child was a child...She said she would take care of it...........and did not even walk over there. I walked around some after that....the urge to play was all gone....saw lots of people in uniforms........doing nothing...still worry about it. If it had been the USA..dial 911..on tape..and someone would check it out. Mama was bigger than Papa and little boy was not that little..so I hope for the best. Actually I went to two people to report it....nothing. zilch. zero.

We left. We did take some pictures in the chairs and things around the casino. It was raining..so we got into the first cab we saw. We went back roads. We were in traffice jams. The driver stopped to chat to other drivers. We were beginning to be worried when we saw the ship. THAT WAS THE LAST TIME I WILL EVER GET OFF OF ANY HSIP IF IT IS NOT ON SHIP SANCTIONED TRANSPORTATION. Some things are worth the extra money.

So.......bad day at Atlantis. Nassau in general. But Key West..who knew it had gotten so lovely...so interesting with shops and markets..............Loved it.
