Hi,

I can't seem to find in detail on the RCCL web site what is actually included in the land tour part of 12/13 day Alaskan cruise tours.

Does anyone know where I can find this information?

I'm interested in knowing what the included sightseeing is & what is at additional cost.

Thanks.:)

On our cruise tour we had 2 excursions included, one in Anchorage and one in Fairbanks. Hotels and transportation were included. I don't think any meals were included, but I may be mistaken. And, the bus ride through Denali was included. We had opportunities to book other excursions during the land tour.

You will love the Alaska cruise tour.

Thanks both for your replies.

What I'm actually looking for though is how to find out exactly what tours are included, what meals would also be handy etc.

I was hoping there was a detailed online brochure I could access?

It is hard to budget for a holiday not knowing what attractions you want to see that you will need to pay for or not.

Thanks.

Probably the best thing you can do is to check the itineraries on the cruisetours at RoyalCaribbean. The only cruisetour I've done was on Princess. I liked the Princess Escorted (now Connoisseur) because two meals daily were included, as well as the train rides and some excursions at Denali and Fairbanks.

Thanks, but the lack of info in the RCCL website itinerary is why I'm asking :)

You need to pick an actual cruise tour package #, then click on itinerary and scroll down for the description .

It will tell you if a meal is included, most are not.

It will also say if you have time for an independant excursion.

I would also recommend doing the land part first because it is a busy schedule and then you can relax more on the ship.

Hope this helps:)

We enjoyed the land portion more so than the cruise portion, I agree do the land first, they keep you very busy, some early mornings (to have bags out) and one late night (10:00pm, but the sun is still shining in Denali) I think RCL does a great job on the cruise tour!! never touched a bag, recomendations for dining, and spent the whole 5 to 7 days with the same guide and people (who become friends). Back to your question DO IT! We were also concerned about expenses, it is what tou make of it. You do have to pay for almost all meals, in 2008 great burgers, fries and a bev. (beer) was about $20 pp with tip or less, if you wanted alaskan crab legs, quite a bit more about $40pp for a full diner. You will get what you pay for but in 2008 I was very pleased with the food & bev. prices, your on vacation!

The Alaska cruise tour portion was the hardest cruise I ever had to plan. Unfortunately Royal does not even provide you with what time you arrive in each place so planning is tough! The cruise tour you pick will have exactly what tours are included but that is about it. I sure would spend a bunch of time on the Alaska board to see what exactly your tour number might be looking at for times, eating options and misc info so your ready once you hit a town.
