I AM BACK!!!!

I am so sorry that I have been off the grid for so long. I will spare you the details but I had the entire review saved on my iPad and then someone stole my iPad...at church of all places! Anyway, the police tracked it down and I just got it back. I had it all finished and everything and was so bummed that I lost everything. Anyway, I got it back and in my possession and the person who had it is sitting in jail tonight. I am so sorry and should have come back to give an explanation but I was just so torn about it all. Again, I am back and am very sorry for the delay.

Back to the review shall we????

Takes all kinds to make the world go round. Amazes me sometimes!!! Glad you got back, and the cuplrit will pay. I even had a car stolen from a church parking lot. Luckily, found it parked a few blocks away the next day.

Anywhoo, welcome back, can't wait to read the rest of it. :D

I'm so glad you are back to finish the review! Sorry to hear about your stolen iPad, and I'm glad you were able to get it back :)

I'm ready for more of your review!

Andrea, you mention the ability to use Carnival's message board for free while sailing. What is that exactly, and how do you do it? Thanks!

Mnablondie, We used the Carnival Funville Forums for free while I was on the ship. For the first few days, I would go to the computer room on the ship and use their computers to log onto Funville, but then I realized I can access Funville for free also from my cabin on my laptop.

Here is how to get to Funville:

Go to Carnival's website (carnival.com)

Near the top right of the page, click on "Community"

This takes you to the "Funville Forums"

Now, just find a place to post!

I would scroll down and look for "User Groups" and click on "Currently Onboard"

You can make a post for yourself there, and your friends can find it and reply. (You probably need to log in or create a username before you can post there)

Also, I would create your username and make your first test post there BEFORE you leave for your cruise. That way, you won't have to spend precious time on your cruise trying to figure it out. Internet on the ship was very slow, and could take me 30 minutes to make 1 simple post there when I was onboard.

David - I am so happy to see you back on the forum to finish what you started. Everyone was eagerly waiting your return. Its amazing that not even in the church you can fully trust people. But I am glad to know he was apprehended and you got your iPAD back in one piece.

Looking forward to the rest of the review.

After we showered and changed, we went to the future cruise talk where Todd spoke. He was informative but I wish he had told us they were doing way with the future cruise certificates! We would've bought many more had we known but we did not.

That night before dinner I walked out to see the sunset up on the top deck. On the way I noticed club O2 and Circle C. I snapped a couple pictures of them as they were on deck 11.

Here's a beautiful sunset that we saw on the last night of our eastern Caribbean cruise.

Looking to the side we notice we were being tailed by another Carnival ship. Turns out, this is the Carnival Liberty coming back to Miami as well.

That night we went to dinner and I decided I would try the fresh mozzarella for a starter. I asked our server if I can get it without the vine ripe tomatoes and he was more than happy to do that.

My wife chose the crab cakes for her starter.

For my main course I had the steak and I'm not sure my wife ordered that night.

For dessert I tried the Baked Alaska which I did not like and my wife had the warm chocolate melting cake.again.

We went to bed knowing that our trip was not even over yet. Everyone else is going to be getting off in the morning but for a few of us, we were just getting ready to start our next leg. We enjoyed the first half of our cruise tremendously. Half Moon Cay was definitely number one, number two Grand Turk, and number three Nassau. If we could go back to any of these stops, there are things we would do again and there are some things we would not do again. Even still, we cannot have asked for more perfect first leg of our B2B cruise!

We had received this form the previous night about the change over to the next cruise.

While everyone was scrambling to get their accounts changed, bags packed, and off the ship, we were simply laying low this day.

I feel bad for guest services this morning because these people forgot how much they can drink on a cruise!!! LOL!

I went down to breakfast on the Lido about 8:30am and found the lines were not long at all.

file-2083.jpg

I grabbed a few plates to bring back to the room while my wife packed up our balcony room. We told our room steward that we were moving and he told us just to leave our bags in our current room and he would switch us to the new room while they were escorting us off the ship.

We were told to meet at Guest Services at 10:30am and have our customs forms with us. While waiting to do that, we went to the laundry room to do a few loads and just took our time wondering the ship.

We thought it was funny watching everyone having to get off the ship knowing we were sitting tight and not going anywhere.

After making sure all passengers were off the ship, one of the ships officers walked a group of about 10 of us off the ship and to customs. We were off the ship for a grand total of about 6 minutes and were back on in no time. The only beef I had with this was that we did not get to keep our old S&S cards.

While we were being escorted off the ship, we noticed the captain was getting off the ship too! We asked him who was going to be driving since he was not going to be there and he said his staff captain would be taking over. Apparently, with the Sunshine coming out, he had to do some type of training/trial on the equipment and this was the week to do it. It was still weird seeing him in street clothes just hanging out at Guest Services. He is the guy in the plaid shirt.

We were thrilled to have this down time with our friends we met at our previous roll call that were doing the B2B as well. We did not get to spend much time with them on the first leg of the cruise but we just knew this cruise would be different. We had an awesome time just chatting and sharing stories about the first leg of our trip.

After coming back on, we went to our new room and found the room was already turned over and had our bags waiting on us there. We took the next couple hours to finish our laundry and get our new room setup. The one thing I loved about our interior room was that there was a new TV in there that did not have the channels cut off!

One cool thing we did was volunteer, to be a model for the spa tour on the second leg. While at the sauna one day, I jokingly made the remark, "If you need people to volunteer, we will do it" and the spa manger replied, "Are you serious? Would you?" This was a no brainer for us. Who doesn't want a free spa treatment! My wife ended up doing the seaweed wrap, and I did the barber shave, facial, and massage. Was it weird for people to see me getting a treatment? NOPE! We will definitely try to do this again when we cruise! I am sorry for not having pictures taken of this event because frankly we were too busy enjoying our FREE spa treatments!!!

Why were you not allowed to keep your S&S cards? I save mine in an album with a picture of the ship, our boarding picture and the S&S cards.

I'm loving your review. You convinced us to book this itinerary.

Thank you for the detailed turn around, cant wait for ours!!! Hmmm we dont drink wine or champagne, I wonder if we let them know ahead of time if we might get something else? Might have to look into this volunteer thing for the spa!! :D

Hi David - Loving your review! (and loving the weather here this week too - isn't it gorgeous out? :D) Quick question - did you notice if the ship's pools were open during turnaround day? We're trying to decide whether to plan a day out in Miami, or just hang out and enjoy the pool that day. Thanks! :)
