crusinfamof4 Posted September 19, 2012 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2012 Hello! I am sure there have been other posts, but I have not been to this part of the boards yet. Is there a free beach in Nassau near the port? We were going to walk around Atlantis, but I heard now you can't just go to the lobby and walk around. I would love to go to a nice free beach somewhere. thanks in advance!
runner15km Posted September 19, 2012 #2 Share Posted September 19, 2012 Junkanoo beach is just a 15 min. walk from the pier, turn right as you exit pier and its just down the road past British Colonial Hilton. I like Cabbage Beach on Paradise Island, 4.00 p/p by cab to the public entrance near the Riu Hotel.
brianjb Posted September 20, 2012 #3 Share Posted September 20, 2012 Do the locals bother you while you're on the beach? At Ocho Rios, Jamaica, we were bothered while we tried to relax on the beach.
seattleny Posted September 22, 2012 #4 Share Posted September 22, 2012 locals don't bother you on Junkanoo Beach. there are little shacks that sell food and beer. get yourself a beer or two and relax on the beach-you can see all the cruise ships that are inport.
