cpayne Posted May 20, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 20, 2005 Does anyone know how far it is from the ship terminal to the Market Square? Have seen the Market Square listed on several tours and thinking of just going on my own, but wondering how far away it is. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks. crisp1 Posted May 20, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 20, 2005 Not sure what they mean by the market square. There were some vendors just off the ship- some art and a bunch of shells, people selling peanuts etc. If you walk thru the tunnel there are shops around the old port- not much there either- just the one recommended spice shop. Also across the street from the ship are a couple of streets with the usual shops- tee shirts etc. and a farmers market with fresh fruit.
denboy Posted May 20, 2005 #3 Share Posted May 20, 2005 It's not far to walk whether you moor up at the Esplanade or the Carenage. The Market Square is right in the centre of the city and is a hive of activity. If coming from the Carenage after you have walked through the Sendell Tunnel go up the hill and turn right and the square will open out in front of you on the left hand side. Alter natively from the Esplanade you are going straight across. Hope this explains how to find it but it's one thing knowing where it is and another to give directions to someone who does not know there way around. But to answer your question there is no reason why you should not go on your own.
