Treta1 Posted May 22, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 22, 2005 I'm planning a cruise on the Caribbean Princess in July out of Ft. Lauderdale. I've sailed on 4 RCCL voyager class ships and 1 Carnival but never on Princess. How does the Princess Line compare as far as food, service, etc., and does anybody know which deck would be the best choice for a cabin? I have two children, 13 & 15, traveling with my wife and I. gonna go cruising Posted May 22, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 22, 2005 I would think that if you are sailing this July that you may have to take whatever is available. I would assume most are sold out. Personally, I loved the Caribe deck but have nothing to compare it to besides Disney. Have a great time!
Bowlersbus Posted May 22, 2005 #3 Share Posted May 22, 2005 When in July are you sailing? We have a ROLL CALL THREAD for the july 23rd cruise. I am in the same boat (no pun intended). Am a RCCL cruiser and Disney this past year. I think everyone likes each line for different reasons. For instance I LOVED that Disney offered the FREE soda station - but missed the FREE ice cream that RCCL has. Now neither ruined my cruise, just made it different. There is a wonder site that has alot of info - hope this helps. http://www.cruisingthecaribbeanprincess.com
Richard Stein Posted May 22, 2005 #4 Share Posted May 22, 2005 This ship is the ship of the month in the current Cruise Travel, check it out. Each line has their own thing. Princess has smaller and quieter dining rooms than RCCL.
madelinerose Posted May 22, 2005 #5 Share Posted May 22, 2005 There are many Princess vs RCI threads. I did a search and here is one: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=177660&highlight=Princess+RCI
CruiseNut7 Posted May 22, 2005 #6 Share Posted May 22, 2005 I sailed on the Caribbean Princess last December and loved it. It is a huge ship, but not difficult to maneuver about. We had a mini-suite on the Dolphin Deck and were very happy with it. The balonies on the Caribe Deck are supposed to be the largest. We've sailed on Celebrity, RCCL, Norwegian and others, but Princess is my personal favorite. I have two open bookings with them right now. I think their food and service is excellent and plan another sailing on the CP next year. We are particularly fond of the Personal Choice dining .... I like to eat when I want to eat, but that's just me. Some prefer traditional dining. Don't miss the Cafe Caribe .... awesome! Happy sails! princesscay Posted May 22, 2005 #7 Share Posted May 22, 2005 we just got home yesterday afternoon from the caribbean princess. it was a beautiful ship and we have no complaints really at all. it was the best vacation ever. clean ship. professional staff. you are pampered like you've never been pampered before !!!!!!!:D i ate up a storm and the food was great. try the pizza. the best. it melts in your mouth. the mai tai and rum punch were the best drinks i thought. some of the shows were really good too. dont miss them. there are buffets and dining rooms, lounges and a theatre. shows every night. movies under the stars. waiters everywhere. you will never go hungry or thirsty. relaxing. there is shade on the pool decks too so if you dont want direct sun, you'll find a comfy place. we tried to take the stairs a lot for exercise since we ate so much. we saw teens and they all hung out together. your kids will have a MAJOR blast! they will love this ship. basketball, ping pong, large chess game, minature golf, pools, hottubs, food everywhere, princess idol, games, movies, etc:eek: it is easy to find your way around the ship. in every hallway you will see a map of the ship with the "you are here" red dot and you will easily find your way. in our room, we had the aloha cabin and a balcony. gotta have a balcony. i sat out there while i waited for my hubby to get ready. my hair would mostly dry that way with the breeze! so relaxing watching the water as we sailed.:p our room steward always kept our room up. every time we went back to our room we had clean towels, our bed was pulled down, chocolates on our pillows, etc.... very good. i told my husband that i never ever saw people work so hard as i do this crew!!! you will love this....!!!!!;)
