tikimon Posted October 11, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 11, 2012 If one of the perks for the FTTF are early cabin ready and early luggage delivery and if you are Plat or higher you get this also then my question is: Why can't every ship in the fleet offer this now for the Plat's and above without having the FTTF program on each ship. I mean if it's suppose to be a perk for Plat and above then those that are Plat and above on all of these other sailings that don't offer the FTTF are getting the shaft. Could it be that it is not offered fleet wide for Plat and above now, cause there is no one to pay for it on the sailings without the FTTF program? ME thinks that could be the very reason. FTTF is a new program, and as such, all new programs are tested on several ships. By doing this on a trial basis, CCL can gauge the impact on staff to have Platinum and FTTF rooms ready and luggage delivered. If too demanding to complete the necessary preparations by staff, then it would never be implemented fleet wide. Based on CCL expanding to 2 more ships, I feel it is just a matter of time until available fleet wide.:D
tikimon Posted October 11, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted October 11, 2012 Yea I already know all that! I'm just saying that the rest of the Plats and Diamonds on the others ships now are getting the shaft fom Carnival cause there is no one on those sailings and ships to pay the extra money to Carnival for a service that costs them $0.00 dollars. Therefore according To Carnival all Plats and Diamonds are not equal unless someone somewhere is paying for something.
treasure4two Posted October 11, 2012 #4 Share Posted October 11, 2012 Sorry, ???? I do not think they are trying to give you the shaft-as the other person said on this thread, they are trying to work out the system, so it will work out properly for all. Scott34787 Posted October 11, 2012 #5 Share Posted October 11, 2012 Therefore according To Carnival all Plats and Diamonds are not equal unless someone somewhere is paying for something. That is correct as extra staff is needed to expedite rapid room turnover and express luggage delivery and that cost money. Also consider this: These are new perks to Platinum and Diamond members only because of the FTTF program. Those paying for the FTTF program are in effect subsidizing these new perks for Platinum and Diamond members.
tikimon Posted October 11, 2012 Author #6 Share Posted October 11, 2012 I've not read anywhere that they were having to add extra staff to perform the task of getting cabins ready and deliver early luggage, not saying it's false but I haven't read it anywhere and I have my dout's that they are bringing on added staff for this purpose. All the people needed to make this happen were already on the ship working and being payed by Carnival, they just had to change the way they were handling their turn around days, so no extra staff is needed. In my opinion the trial period for the first 2 ships was not to see if the staff could preform the task in time, but rather to see how many people would be willing to pay the extra 49.95 for the perks. The FTTF people are not subsidizing anything for the Plat And Diamond, cause this program costs Carnival absolutly nothing, it's just extra revene for those sailings. While this is probably true, it will cost in the long run. If available fleet wide as a Platinum/Diamond benefit, it will put a burden on room stewards to clean XXX rooms first, and pick through luggage to ensure early arrival. Seems to me, CCL has cut back on staff and extra work is now being performed by less room stewards and dining room staff. Still not sure what the complaint is, I'm kinda slow sometimes. LOL

CENTEX CRUISER Posted October 11, 2012 #11 Share Posted October 11, 2012 All this FTTP is kind of interesting. Some platinum and above do not think it is fair. I think it is if they follow their own rules..We cruise Royal also, and with them, after only one cruise, you get priority boarding and disembarking, and they don't charge $49.95.. jonbgd Posted October 11, 2012 #13 Share Posted October 11, 2012 If you listen to a couple of posters on this site youve always had early access:rolleyes: But I agree why cant P&D get FTTF on all the ships now? All they do is change the luggage tags to orange(go Giants) for early bags and do the P&D cabins first How much extra does that cost:confused:

If not in writing, no benefit, just entitlement attitude. IMO. But as martinchem pointed out, I'll take whatever given, by any line. For many years Carnival has been playing with the early cabin availability on various ships. On the Conquest last week the cabins were ready at 12:30 instead of the usual 1:30 (FTTF isn't on the Conquest). It was very interesting to me that only 179 guests were Platinum and only 4 Diamond on this sailing...I thought that Platinums were making up a much larger percentage of the total guest count. They have said in the past that they don't want to add a new program fleetwide until all the kinks have been worked out during the trials..I don't think it has anything at all to do with additional revenue to support the program and I've not heard anything about them adding additional crew to support the program. We did have priority embark on RCI 1 cruise prior to reaching Platinum, and that was because we booked a JS.
richfret Posted October 13, 2012 #20 Share Posted October 13, 2012 I look at it this way. I am Platinum with 15 completed Carnival cruises and the next one booked on the Liberty. I am tickled pink that my luggage will get to the cabin earlier than in the past and I will be able to access the cabin earlier than ever before. As for costs, the Steward will be given a list of VFIP's in his care and he/she will prepare their cabins before they do the non VFIP's. So where's the added costs? If any, it is certainly very little. On some ships, they closed the doors that gave access to the cabins until 1:30 pm. My guess is that you will now be given access as you board. One of the posts said, they were escorted to their cabin but I don't know if that will be in the final version of the program or on all ships. Remember, this is a new program and changes may still be made. Give it a chance before listing all the faults. Otherwise, Carnival will have to do all it's changes under cover with the iron fist approach.
mo gal Posted October 13, 2012 #21 Share Posted October 13, 2012 We were Platinum in Sept on the Conquest and we didn't receive our luggage any faster then anyone else. Has this changed since Sept if so it would be wonderful :)?
