AHHHH Unforseen Expenses Before Cruise

Our refrigerator died! Two tips for you. One was the martini clinic- 5 martinis for $10, and they were really good. Trust me, I don't like regular martinis. Two, careful of Bingo. We played often because my daughter loves it, and it ended up costing us a fortune. It's amazing how the cost added up! Good luck and have fun!

No problem - just hit the casion the first night - as soon as you win enough to cover all your onboard expenses with your limited funds quit

On the other hand you could lose it all and be reduced to drinking coffee, Tea and milk.

Just another poster with a sick dog....

Actually, we'll be putting him to sleep the day before our cruise. He's 14 and has a heart condition which has deteriorated this past week, causing 2 heart attacks. He's my (grown) sons, and since the son is flying in to go with us on this cruise (also at our expense), we decided to wait until they see each other again. We leave on Friday, so next thing to do today is call the vet and see how Thursday afternoon looks for them.....

It will be a tough day but a very kind thing to do.

Karenj, I'm so sorry about your family pet. That is one of the toughest things a person can do but it sounds like it's absolutely necessary. When it is necessary it's the kindest, most loving thing a person can do.

Don't think I ever had a budget crisis right before a cruise but my DH had surgery 5 weeks before a cruise. I didn't know if we were going to make it but I was sure glad we had "insurance". The doctor said he was fine and could go and relax, although he was a little more tired than usual. the insurance was a nice backup just knowing it was there!

Cecelia - congrats on the baby!

Karla C - we've got a Meet & Greet - 10:30 Star Bar on 6/13!!! See Ya!

Karenj: very sorry to hear about your dog. It is a hard decision to make. My sympathies are with you.

Snorkelfan...yeah a meet & greet...I was heading over to our roll call after checking out this board.

Shoreguy: thanks for the casino info...I was planning on trying that the first day but only spending a little. The last night is a different story...I will have a bar tab to pay for...worth the extra "gamble".

Karen ~ we lost out dog of 12 years this past Saturday. I know that this will be an amazingly rough time for you. Please see the "conversations" I had with some fellow animal-lovers the last few days that have really made things a little easier:

The conversation started on page 3 with post #52.

It is very fortunate for you to be able to spend a little time with your dog to be able to say good bye. My only regret with Darcy is that our kids didn't have that chance. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks to all for your kind words. I'm just glad that the dog has hung in there long enough for our (Navy) son to get home and see him one more time. As of right now, the dog is comfortable. We pick up the son this evening and are scheduled to take the dog to the vets tomorrow afternoon. It's not easy, but we've been there before and (probably will) be there again. Sure glad that we've got a great trip coming up this weekend to take our minds off of it.

Hi Karen. I'm sorry about your dog. That must be tough. But on the upside...your son is coming home. :D I was in the Navy for four years and I lived for my leave periods so I could see family. I hope that brings some joy to a terrible situation.
