2 or 3 formal nights???

On my pre-cruise documents for my next cruise it states as follows:

7 to 13 days - 2 formal nights

14 to 20 days-3 formal nights

This is what we have found on all of our Princess Cruises to date except one. We did a back to back cruise Hawaii to Tahiti, 12 days each segment and instead of the 2 formal nights that we were told, they through in a third for each segment.

So, I think I would depend on the documents and use them as a guide instead of this schedule they print, as it can be different.

14 nights on Sea Princess.

The brochure said 2, the tickets and literature say 3. I need to know whether I need another shirt!!!

A couple of years ago on a 7 day cruise that included New Years Eve, we assumed that New Years Eve would be one of the formal nights. WRONG

They had a third Formal night for 12/31, so I just had my tux shirt laundered by the ship - a lot less expensive than buying a third shirt.
