Day at Sea

So, what do people do on days at sea?

I've never been on a Carnival Cruise ship and I look forward to being on a boat with a TON of people!

Thanks! Happy Cruising Y'all!

Pretty much whatever you feel like

(within reason, of course! :))

Most people relax by the pool,

sunbathe, hit the gym or Spa,

eat, drink and be merry.

You can shop in the shops,

gamble in the casino,

take in an art auction.

They also plan fun stuff to

keep you entertained.

For an idea of the activities, check

out the "Fun Times" schedules -

look for the ones that say

"Fun Day at Sea":

(just click through until you find the PDF you

want - to go back click "Parent Directory"

ENJOY!

I actually wish there was an extra sea day during my next one...

I love Trivia, karaoke, massage/spa sessions, hot tub relaxation, eating, eating some more, casino (okay...that usually never works to my advantage), and then more food. :D

Well, we have to sleep in, after partying late the night before. Sit out in the sun. Play with water slides.

Trivia games, afternoon tea. I get restless, so I wander the ship a lot. Talk to people, eat, exercise, walk on the track. The time really flies.

I go crazy on sea days. I like the islands so trapped Onboard all day can be tough. I don't like sitting around or baking in the sun. Hopefully the pool isn't wall to wall. Hot tubs are usually full. So it's eat which isn't a good thing. So I guess walk the ship and people watch. We do island intensive trips. I worried be very worried on a TA.

I love a sea day mixed in with port days, although I'll admit I do get restless! On the other hand, my husband could lie around all day and read....

So usually we find something going on like:

Slot Tournament

Wine Pairing

Martini Tastings (Also Margarita Tastings, although I'm not sure if Carnival does Margarita Tastings)

Cooking Demonstration

Trivia's

Mini Golf

Mixology class (Haven't done this yet, but will definitely be doing this on our next cruise)

And of course we do lay around by the pool for a couple of hours, too! :D

I love sea days too! We usually hit the sun and slides by 8:00. At 11ish we head in and get cleaned up for lunch in the MDR at noon (love lunch in the MDR!). Then we relax on our balcony or wonder around the ship or find an out of the way nook to read in. Get ready for early dining- eat dinner, hit the casino and grab a few drinks. Then catch a show or listen to music. Sigh- I can't wait for my next sea day in 11 days!!!!

I too, LOVE all the sea days, and wouldn't care if all my cruises were "cruises to nowhere". :DWe love the relaxed atmosphere, the trivia games, sitting around the pool, and enjoying the activities there, along with the "people watching". Afternoon naps, and karaoke. Listening to the live music often offered in the lounges, etc. Bottom line is, that you can do as much, or as little as you want. (Oh yea,,,I agree with the poster above who noted that the dining room is open for breakfast, and lunch on sea days too. Just a bonus!)

This time I'm going to try afternoon tea. DH wil either join me or nap, his choice! I wouldn't mind sleeping in on sea days but I'm afraid I'll miss something. Anyway, I like to be in Serenity first thing in the morning and hog the seabreeze.

Sleep in.

Room service breakfast on the balcony.

I might head to the casino while my wife gets ready.

A light lunch, usually at the buffet since we'll probably be too late for MDR

Maybe a little shopping, a couple of drinks.

Dinner in MDR

Show; drinks; listen to music (preferably a live band)

We cruise primarily for the ports, but sea days do force me to relax - something I don't generally do very well.

Then you will have a great time, since many appear to weigh a ton. :D

I like to eat lunch in the MDR, go to afternoon tea, visit the steamroom (or sauna, if you prefer), exercise in the pool or walk the track or deck, play a game with my daughter (we usually pack Skipbo, yahtzee sheets and dice, and/or a deck of playing cards), watch the sunset with a glass of wine, find a nice place to read.

It's glorious to have no responsibilities and not have to "be" anywhere. We had a TA in 2007, and the 7 straight sea days were no problem.

Enjoy!
