Price Drops - Non Early Saver

Good Evening All! I am thinking of booking a cruise for this coming March. I am past the Early Saver rate period, so I would have to probably book either Past Guest or something similar.

 

I know how price drops work with Early Saver, but if you have a price drop and you are not Early Saver what is the procedure? Can you even get a price drop if you are not Early Saver?

As far as I know, you can get price matches up to final payment date, which will be within the month if ES is off the table. After that, it's my understanding if a higher cat. cabin goes as low as the price you paid, you can ask for and upgrade. I could be wrong on these.

 

Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!

 

I just reread your post... if you are looking at March, ES should still be there. My cruise is early Feb. and it still has ES rates???!!!

I'm also a bit confused as to why no ES on a March cruise......but yes, you should be able to get lower prices by calling Carnival any time prior to the final payment date.

I had booked the cheapest inside cabin on the "state resident" rate,

I called Carnival to ask about upgrades after the final payment

is made since I really wanted an oceanview cabin, they said

you can upgrade at any time after the final payment is made,

you would just pay the difference between the current rate at that

time of the cabin type you want and the rate you paid.

Sometimes there are last minute price drops and

the difference is very nomimal for an upgrade.

Did not ask about credit since my rate is very cheap.
