Brisbanelionsfan Posted October 18, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2012 We have just received our docs for our Solstice cruise on Nov. 23rd and we have been told that Blu is not open seating and we will have to go at our dining time of 6.15, is this correct? I thought we could go any time. We have an AQ cabin. Cheers

JacintaH Posted October 18, 2012 #3 Share Posted October 18, 2012 If you were a Swans supporter you could go anytime to dinner you want but a Lions supporter .... well .... actually I have no idea, I just couldn't help myself :D

When we asked about that once we got on-board the cruise, we were told that assigned time was only on the first night, and was not actually enforced. You can show up whenever you want and get a table, it's just on the first night they try and spread people out with assigned times. Every night in Blu is open seating, no reservation required. Lsimon Posted October 18, 2012 #6 Share Posted October 18, 2012 I'll confirm what Don Dkjretired said. Despite the fact that Celebrity assigns a dining time as if Blu was fixed time seating it is not. You can dine at Blu any time. The only possible explanation is the one Don cited, that this is done as a work around Celebrity's computer system. There are other things that Celebrity does that make no sense other than that such as making Select Dining patrons prepay all of their tips including stateroom service. It is unfortunate that they have this confusing part of the AQ / Blu booking. Think how confusing it must be for passengers that don't know about Cruise Critic and don't have this source for learning about this strange quirk.
