FTTF on Valor Dec 2, 2012

I've read that FTTF is available on Valor starting this weekend so I tried to book it for our cruise on Dec 2. It shows as an excursion on Carnival's site but rather than the green "Add to Cart" button, I just see a tray "Learn More" button that shows the following message:

"We’re still setting up shore excursion inventory in this port of call. While most excursions will become available for pre-sale 120 days prior to sail date, rare exceptions may apply depending on the port of call and the time of year.

Rest assured we are working diligently to secure a line-up of only the best shore excursions offered in this port of call."

All of the Miami shore excursions show that same thing.

I called the online support number and they said that if it's not showing as a Miami excursion, it must be sold out. I told them it is not showing if I search just for Miami excursions but it is showing in the complete list of excursions. When he saw that, he sent me over to the help desk who told me the same thing - basically if I can't add it to my cart, it must be sold out.

They explained to me that there are only a limited quantity of these available but I find it hard to believe that all the excursions (not just FTTF) for Miami are sold out for our cruise. Seems to me this is likely a technical glitch on the site.

FTTF is so new that I had to explain it to the online support person so I find it hard to believe that enough cruisers know about it to sell it out so soon after it was made available on our ship.

Anyone else have trouble booking FTTF? Any ideas?

Thanks :)

Remember: it is a limited quantity that are available, and it does depend how many VIPs are already booked. As the sailing gets closer, if VIPs cancel or they don't get as many more VIPs than expected, more FTTF may be released.

So my thoughts for now are that its sold out, but I'd keep checking if you're really keen on getting it. Good luck!

Remember also that if more Plat/Diamond passengers book.....They will cancel some of the FTTF shore excursions.

What type of perks? A little more detail please.

Thank you.

We booked FTTF for our Imagination cruise 10-15-2012, we just came back.

Some of the Perks that worked for us:

  • Dedicated check-in line for FTTF pax.

  • Priority Embarkation, and yes we did board with the platinum and VIP. members, although our boarding pass only said "Priority Boarding"

  • Room ready to occupy when we boarded.
  • Priority luggage delivery. Our luggage was in our room when we returned from lunch.
  • Invitation to the Welcome Aboard Party.
  • Priority Disembark. We were escorted off with the VIP'S and had luggage tags with Zone 1

There were a few others like priority tendering, which we did not have to tender and something about priority dining reservation.

No question we will do this again. In my opinion well worth it!!!
