catdancers Posted May 24, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 24, 2005 We're just off the May 7 Island Princess and had Early Seating Traditional Dining. We much prefer Late Seating, but we were with another couple who insisted on eating early. We knew this going in, of course, but we were dismayed to learn upon embarkation that the early seating was at 5:30 PM, rather than 6:00 or 6:15 PM. I believe the late seating was at 7:45 PM. Does anyone know if Princess is changing the dining times fleet wide?
SharkieRools Posted May 24, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 24, 2005 I've noticed that on Alaska cruises the dining times were earlier than normal.
Druke I Posted May 24, 2005 #3 Share Posted May 24, 2005 Not at all unusual to have dining times adjusted, depending on itinerary. Always a good idea to check Patter upon boarding, to get right times. Too many people don't, and if in Traditional dining, cause delays for their table mates when they come in half-hour late. We had to remind our table-mates on Pacific Princess (new) of the correct dining time - they hadn't bothered to check, and were depending on time from their last cruise. AzTraveler Posted May 24, 2005 #4 Share Posted May 24, 2005 We was on the Island Princess for the 4/19 cruise to Hawaii, the last one of the season. The early seating for dinner was at 5:30 on that cruise as well. Harold
LisaH Posted May 24, 2005 #5 Share Posted May 24, 2005 I am glad to know this for future reference. We like to eat early but 5:30 is too early. 6:15 is perfect. We may have to do late dining our Alaska cruise in 2007. I would think also shore excursions would be extremely rushed as well. Thanks for the info
