teacher34 Posted October 26, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 26, 2012 Hi, folks, I have some friends that returned a couple of weeks ago from a trip on the Dream and they were telling me that there is a new terminal for the Dream now. I was wondering if someone could give me some informaton about it. My friend has a great deal of trouble walking and he and his wife said that with the new terminal you have to walk about half a mile from where the motel shuttles drop you off till you get to the terminal. That seems unbelievable to me. Did it just seem longer to them because of his walking issues? I also am not able to walk really far and a half mile might be pushing it for me. I'd appreciate any information you can give me. I thought the old terminal was perfect and check in was always so quick and hassle free. Thanks for the help. We sail in March. bobsfamily Posted October 26, 2012 #2 Share Posted October 26, 2012 A comment I found on the Carnival board: "Since we had so much luggage we had a porter gather our luggage and we told him that we were going to area C and were with Park n Cruise. So when he headed out he took us to C and to an area where a Park n Cruise vehicle was loading." I don't know where "area C" is but it must be a bit of a walk for using a porter with lots of luggage. I know I have seen other comments about being left with a good walk to the actual terminal entrance but cannot find them. It seems that if you park at the port you are much closer... will know in 8 days:D and will report back.
kjunea Posted October 27, 2012 #3 Share Posted October 27, 2012 We came from the Radisson on their shuttle. They left us off in a parking lot and then we went down a tunnel to the terminal. The porters were right there to leave our checked luggage, so all we had was our carryons. My mother (who is 86) made it with her walker no problem. I don't think it was 1/2 mile, but it's not real close. Once we were in the terminal, we were met by someone who put my mom in a wheelchair, put us in the VIP area, got our S&S cards, then escorted us through all the pictures and onboard the ship. Easiest embarkation ever!
