Duty free at Sydney terminal?

Can anyone advise if there is a duty free at Sydney terminal..... Or indeed any shops at all there?

Not to sure which terminal you are referring too, but the only terminal in Sydney with duty free is Sydney Airport, neither of the cruise terminals have it.

 

If you are going on a cruise, the cheapest duty free will be from overseas, especially if you visit Port Vila. Even the cruise ship itself will have cheaper duty free then what Sydney does.

And don't forget TRS, you can get the GST refunded for purchases over $300 and under $1000 when purchased within 30 days of departure from ANY retail outlet.

Just a variance on the comment below. You can claim back GST on goods over $1000 if a family pools their allowance of up to $900 each adult and $450 each child.

Nope not a single shop at the Overseas Passenger Terminal...the place is an embarassment. There are at the airport but as someone said you will do better overseas or even on the ship.

So duty free shopping is nonexistant in NZ.

if you're cruising from the OPT they have the duty free at the Circular Quay, in George st opposite the terminal.....The Galleria

Ray - I wonder which shop keepers told you in NZ that you can get the GST back?

 

Very strange that someone who say you can as it has never been possible. Only exports are duty free.

 

HOWEVER we do have duty free shopping at our airports and you will find their prices are cheaper than Australia particularly for spirits.

Ummm is over $300...not $1000.

It is $300 minimum per transaction but you can pool your allowance of $900 pp.
