Tortola Rental Car Suggestion

We will be on the Zuiderdam leaving this Friday May 28, and I need help with a rental car in Tortola. I sent a message to Jerry's rental cars but no reply to my message. I am leary of making a reservation with him if he cannot reply to my question.

 

It looks like Dollar car rental may be close to the ship dock, but I am not sure.

Any ideas would be appreciated on a company we can walk to from the dock.

If you have never been to Tortola, just a word of warning. Hills are very steep and if I remember correctly, they drive on the left-hand side of the road. Last time we were there a friend picked us up and we drove around the island.......it was pretty frightening at times. :eek:

Ditto! Unless you are really experienced with that kind of driving, IMO, Tortola is not the place to practice.

Well said, Tortola is one of the toughest islands to drive that I have visited in the Caribean. The hills are very steep and on many roads there are no such things as guard rails.

Driving on this Island ( Especially if you want to drive to the beaches on the north side ) is not for the faint of heart.

 

When I go a generally take Cabs. I LOVE this Isand but driving is a challenge for several reasons.
