justloud Posted May 29, 2005 #26 Share Posted May 29, 2005 Any one try to get beer on. Befor 9/11 on a carnival cruise I got off in Mexico and brought on 56 Coronas, no problem. What about today? ;)
SomewhereBeyondTheSea Posted June 7, 2005 #27 Share Posted June 7, 2005 Just off the Valor. I met someone who carried beer on. She would bring it out to the pool everyday in a travel cooler. Her room steward kept it on ice for her.
sorreyboy Posted June 7, 2005 #28 Share Posted June 7, 2005 How much wine can you bring on board and how is the best way to get it on the ship? If you read the other posts, you will find that 'bardgal' took on a "CASE" of champagne with no problem in her luggage. We took on hard liquor with no problem in our luggage. There you have it. Hope it helps. Nic
joyfulsongs Posted June 13, 2005 #29 Share Posted June 13, 2005 I brought a full case of wine on the Inspiration in April with my sister. We checked it with our luggage at the airport, and put a luggage tag on it at the port. It was delivered to our room with our luggage. We wound up giving several bottles away to people we met on the ship. But there was no problem at all taking it on the ship, or the plane! We also tipped the room steward on the first day, asking that we always have ice in our room for chilling it!
lbgirl Posted June 14, 2005 #30 Share Posted June 14, 2005 We brought a cardboard wine box with about 6 bottles of wine - no problem. We like our wine and find that the wine list on board is quite limited. After a couple nights, we were charged a corkage fee, which is fine. If we did not finish the bottle at dinner, it was waiting for us at our table the next evening.
karen11g Posted June 14, 2005 #31 Share Posted June 14, 2005 SCR: We like to have a glass of wine on the balcony before going to dinner, so several times brought an open bottle of wine with us to the dining room. Wouldn't worry about being "tasteless." Nobody reacted in any way, we didn't get charged a corkage fee, and our waiter poured our wine for us. If they had charged us the fee, we would have paid it no problem, and we did tip nicely. We only have the experience of one cruise, so not exactly experts, though!;)

barbaragrace Posted July 2, 2005 #33 Share Posted July 2, 2005 Just got off the LEGEND the other day. We took one bottle in a canteen in our carry on and another BUBBLE wrapped in a check in suitcase.
