Combining highlights tour with beach break?

I'm looking at excursions and I want to see the island, especially Nelson's Dockyard AND go to the beach.

We're travelling with Celebrity and I see they have an excursion for Antigua Hightlights which leave at 09:00 and last for 3 hours, and then a beach experience at 1:30 PM.

Is it too much to combine excursions?

Has anyone been on the excursions or do you recommend doing something else?

You may want to Check out tourguidegordon.com. We are doing an island tour and snorkeling at Long Bay Beach...it is a 7 hour excursion...$50 per person. We prefer hiring locals over doing ship tours and have never worried about not getting back to the ship on time. He has great reviews on CC and tripadvisor.com. Hope that helps! lauri

NO, in my opinion-combining your excursions sounds like a wonderful plan!

The combination of a morning island tour, and an afternoon beach visit, sounds

ideal!

I don't believe that this will be too demanding of a schedule, at all.

I have visited Antigua, several times. I have primarily taken all day snorkeling

excursions, in the past. We will be visiting again in February 2013, and we have

reserved a 5 hour private island tour. This is a private excursion, not through

the ship. My tour will include a stop at Long Bay beach, too.

So, like yourself, I will have a combo of island visiting and a beach stop.

I think you will have a great time!
