MS Susan Posted May 25, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 25, 2005 Looking for a hotel in New Orleans that does not charge for parking and has free shuttle to cruise ship. If anyone can help I would be greatful. Most places I have found charge you to park at the hotel. Susan
Cotton Posted May 25, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 25, 2005 Susan - Unfortunately, most hotels charge for parking. Parking is at a premium in N.O., especially in the French Quarter. Also, very few hotels offer shuttles to the port. If you go to http://www.neworleansonline.com, you can check out a lot of the hotels, and in their site info it will say whether they have complimentary parking or not; however, it will likely be for the night(s) of your stay at the hotel only, not during your cruise. At various times, the Hilton Riverside DOES have a parking special for cruise passengers. The best deal I've seen there is $99 per night and you pay for the first night's parking, but they don't charge for parking for the duration of your cruise. You might check them out, as it seems this 'deal' is offered several times during the year. This hotel is located near the port. Call and ask about their 'stay-park-cruise' special. Good luck.:)

Close to pier, Harrah's casino, streetcar line, Riverwalk Mall & a short walk to French Quarter.

She quoted $ 289 a night and told me they may have the $99 special depending on availability.

Well, that's good to put into the old memory bank!:) Assuming it's a good rate...may I ask how much per night? Are you staying there pre- and post-cruise? Glad you found a deal. Now you can concentrate your thoughts on the cruise! Bon Voyage.

MS Susan Posted May 28, 2005 Author #10 Share Posted May 28, 2005 Hey cotton, It was $129 plus tax for 1 night with a king size bed, non-smoking. You just have to show proof that you will be on the cruise. Phone number to hotel 1-888-524-1881. Txstacey, That will be great:) . Maybe we can meet up before we get on board. Is all of your party staying there? I thought I saw that there was going to be quite a few in your group. Are you the one that suggested that we wear hawaiian leis so we can find all our cruise mates? That is a good idea. We are leaving for cancun in the morning for a week so I will catch up when I get back. Susan

That is a good idea. Susan[/quote]Hola again. Clackey here with some suggestions about the lei thing. Sure, leis are ok for a south pacific voyage, but this is the Carribean and what is the Carribean most noted for? Pirates!!! Thats right , baby, pillaging, "always take hostages," PIRATES. I know, you could wear a puffy shirt like Seinfeld, or maybe wear a plastic parrot on your shoulder like Peter Sellers in one of the Pink Panther episodes. I got it, wear an eye patch and a peg leg. That should make it easy to recognize each other. I sure wish that I could go with you. I sure love to "Put on the dog".:D Have a great trip and eat a shrimp for me.
