She is still laughing about that too. With all your upcoming cruises I see a few more visits to the craps table coming for both of you. We probably stayed there another hour after you left last night. Cindy was rolling for a long time and then other people started asking her to roll for them.

That's awesome! Hopefully we'll see each other again one of these sailings!

Kathleen and I had a great time hanging out with you both in the piano bar. It was a fantastic cruise for us. . . . I can't believe that it was only 2 days. It seems like we were away for a week. We have had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful people by cruising and I hope to bump into you guys in the future. Maybe you would like to come to one of our reunions in the Columbia area?

Haha yeah that was me in the bathroom by the casino trying ridiculous ways to get rid of those hiccups! I think I was laughing too hard! :o

We missed all the comedy on this little getaway - sounds like we may have missed something!

This may seem silly but this is how my bf taught me to get rid if hiccups.

1. Breath in really deep.

2. Suck in some more air.

3. Stick your index fingers in your ears and kind of press down.

4. Hold that for as long as you can.

5. Realize you look silly but you are cured!

Thank you for your review. This one is a lot more positive than another I read from the same sailing.

I LOVE the title of this thread!

The first trivia of the cruise was comedy movie so we knew we'd have a shot. I got 25 of 30 but of course someone else got 26 . Oh well, we went more for the practice for the upcoming Breeze cruise where we really want to win.

We didn't last long at the Let It Ride table and headed to the Ivory Piano Bar around 10. It was great to see it packed as you just never know from cruise to cruise. Sam said hi as we walked in and we saw quite a few people from the roll call that we had already met.

The bar was a lot of fun but Sam wasn't feeling well. His voice was obviously going but he hung in there until a little after midnight.

There was a deck party this night (yeah, they were really cramming a lot into these 2 days). We decided to skip the deck party and go up the the Mexican buffet to help absorb the booze that we had had a little too much of. It was all really good and we called it a night around 1.

For some reason the ship was changing it's clock back Saturday morning instead of Sunday morning. Not sure why but it gave us an extra hour of much needed sleep.

by "we" you mean Cass right? ;)

Hi Nick! It was great getting to know you and Kathleen. Although the Piano Bar isn't always the best place to have a conversation :o

Friday was weird because I know that we had the same amount to drink, it just hit her a lot harder than it did me. Glad she started feeling better mid way through Saturday so we could have more 'shampbooze' :D. It was also nice meeting you. I have a feeling we're going to get spoiled with Ron Pass on the Breeze in a couple weeks.

It was great meeting you guys! Mike and I had a blast! Here is the Ship on a stick that ended up being shrouded in shame and controversy! Oh the Shame of it all. LOL

That is definitely a trivia we will remember ;). It was also great meeting you and Mike. Cass told me she wished you lived closer so we could get together again. Look for our Breeze review in a month since I know you'll be on her next year.

Sorry, we had to call it an early night last night (didn't even watch The Walking Dead yet) to catch up on sleep before work today.

Saturday was our Fun Day at Sea (activities for today were very similar to those on Pride's normal Monday which is always a sea day, Ice Carving, Hairy Chest, Slot Tourny). It was nice to not feel rushed to go get a spot outside and we could just take our time in the morning (one of the few perks of cruising out of Baltimore this late in the year). Honestly I'd prefer the warmer weather because the inside of the ship seemed more crowded than normal. After sleeping in we went to the buffet for breakfast. The food was good, what you'd expect from a buffet breakfast. We then went to the first trivia of the day (Fun Trivia). All trivias were very well attended since most people were staying inside. Didn't do very well but learned some interesting facts.

Took a quick shower back in the room and I typed up notes on my Kindle Fire (this thing is a life saver for jotting down things for reviews). Cass tried to get into the Slot Tournament but there was a long list of people already signed up so we decided to do Sci-Fi trivia (way too many Star Trek questions for me to have a shot). I really wish they would mix up these questions as it was identicle to the trivia we did on the Pride in May.....but we still lost :o (there were a couple guys that looked like they just walked off the set of Big Bang Theory that got that ship on a stick).

So this will be one of my few gripes about this cruise. As I mentioned earlier, we each got a free drink coupon that could only be used in the MDR for breakfast or lunch on a sea day. Now you couldn't even order a Bloody Mary at breakfast, (not that I would, just saying) you had to order a Carnival Classic or another from their frozen selections (you could also get a soda). Obviously everyone wanted to take advantage of this and seeing as we had only one meal to use this, the lunch at the MDR was not the normal. We rarely do lunch in the MDR but I have NEVER seen it so crowded. There was about a 10 minute wait to get in (no big deal), and we were seated with a few other strangers (another reason we rarely eat lunch there). So we sat down and promptly ordered our drinks and our food. The food was served relatively quickly and was pretty good (we both just had a burger).

The MDR does not have a bar. The waiters have to go out to other bars and have the drinks made. I have no idea why this is but it has never really been an issue when ordering a drink at dinner. However, with about 90% of the ship ordering drinks at lunch, the service for them was painfully slow. We got our drinks about halfway through our main course and I saw others get their drinks during dessert. Now on a normal 7 day cruise on the Pride with 3 sea days, this would've been broken up much better. They really need to rethink this whole thing on these short cruises and let people redeem those coupons at dinner.

So that was one of the few negatives and I don't imagine it will be an issue on most cruises. We were already told that for the 2 day on the Breeze (no sea day) we can redeem the coupons at dinner. And beware of those Mai Tai's :o

Enjoying living my cruise through your review. It was nice meeting both of you and thanks for taking a picture for me.

I agree, Carnival needs to rethink the drink coupon on short cruises. We didn't get our drinks until dessert. There was a line entering the dining room when we arrived but it went really fast. I did go ask the bartender at the bar near the dining room if we could redeem our coupon and skip eating in the dining room. She politely said no so we stood in line and ate in the MDR. I also found the dining room service extremely slow the first night and we never saw a drink waiter. The second night was a little better. We actually got hot rolls placed on the table and then realized we had no butter on the table.:(

Can't wait to read your review of the Breeze.

Cass headed back to the casino and got signed up for the slot tournament. They must have made a killing with all the $20 entry fees they collected (at least 100 people entered). She sadly didn't qualify and I put $5 into the money pit known as Tower of Cash . Went back to the room to take a nap and glad we did as Cass was still feeling the night before. Woke up just in time for Super Trivia and felt much better. We really like Super Trivia and was interested to see how they would do it for just one day when normally it's held over 3 differerent days.

I don't know why but I really like this picture I got while we were waiting

P1010801.jpg

So instead of doing guys vs girls they just split the room in half and called up two people to be the captains. We've had a couple of the questions before and were able to help our team to a win. Only the captain gets a ship on a stick which is kind of weak but I don't think know how they would do it with 40+ people on each team.

Stayed for 80's trivia where we did OK but amazingly Mike went 20 for 20 ;). The ship on a stick of shame

Also got a couple nice sunset pictures

My husband was sick as a dog on those on the Pride. I think it was all the sugar that did him in, as I matched him round for round with Appletinis and was fine. We each had three over the space of probably 4 hours.

He has never drank another one! :p

Fun little review!

Get ready for a wild episode of The Walking Dead, when you get around to watching it. Wowza.

Thanks. I've read the comics and I know a lot of what's coming but the show is very different from the books so it's still all new. Love both!

I heard that something happened during the family commedy show. Was anyone there who might be able to us what happened? I heard it was a heckler but that's about it.

Heard the same thing but didn't know anyone that was there. We heard mixed reviews of the comedians so just decided to skip them this cruise. Comedy is usually 3rd or 4th on our to do list each night.

OK, I should be done with meetings for the day and hope to wrap this thing up today.

Made a drink back in the room and went to the casino to kill a little time before dinner. Didn't lose any money at the slots so it was a win. Headed to MDR around 6:40. There was a short line and we could've been seated immediately if we wanted to sit with other people. We said we'd wait and that it'd be about 30 minutes as there were 3 other couples ahead of us. No problem as we were not in a rush. Grabbed a seat in the Raphael Lounge and relaxed for 20 minutes when Mike and Kim came over and said hi (they had Steakhouse reservations for 7:45). We noticed several other couples get called but were having a great time talking so didn't really think much about it. When Kim checked her watch and saw that it was 7:40 and they needed to go, I figured something was up. We walked up to the Host and told her that we had been waiting quite a bit. She asked for our room # and told us that we had already been seated . I assured her we hadn't. She appologized and we were moved to the head of the line and promptly seated. I'm sure a lot of people would've made a big deal about this but what's the point? We were on vacation and it's not like we were in a hurry to get anywhere.

Service in the MDR was great both nights and we had our apps very quickly. Cass got one of her favorite appetizers, Pumpkin Soup and I had the Alligator Fritters (Didja Ever option).

I was very excited to see that the menu for that night was the same as the first formal night so she was able to get lobster and I got ribs

I apologize for this little side tangent here but I really wanted to post this. Many of you that know us know that we do not want kids. We love our free time and being able to spoil each other at will. In fact, most kids get on our nerves :o. At dinner this night a Dad (Keith) and his 5 year daughter (Samantha) were sat to our right. I didn't think anything of it until she started talking. It was so adorable as she was trying to spell a bunch of new words. She would ask her Dad and he would help her by having her sound them out and letting her figure them out on her own. Cass couldn't help it and just had to tell her how adorable she was. There were several other really cute moments and at one point Cass says to me 'I want one'. Ummm, no! She didn't want a baby, just a 5 year old that wouldn't grow into a moody teenager. I countered that at least a teenager could cut the grass for me. Anyway, Cass just had to get pictures

I ushered Cass out of there as quick as I could to stop her biological clock from ticking louder than that Croc in Peter Pan.

We went back to the room so I could change and get some money for the casino. We ran into Cindy who we had met at the meet and greet and she said we should come over to the craps table with her and Steve. Craps is very intimidating to the newbie so we politely passed and went to play some Let it Ride. After a couple hours we were both down and getting ready to head to the Piano Bar when Steve and Cindy came over to join us. Sam was still not feeling well and was trying to get the crowd to do most of the singing. We ended up sitting next to Nick and Kathleen and I was chatting with them while Cass was becoming way too close with Cindy (I'm not allowed to post about most of what they talked about that night :o). Sam shut it down shortly after midnight and we were not remotely tired so we followed Steve back to the craps table where he showed me the ropes.

We did get a few pictures in the Piano Bar first.

Me with Steve and Cindy

I just read on someone's other review (or a comment in someone's review) that the shops had run out of many types of liquor. While I know the shops were extremely busy at certain points, they were restocking. When we went to get some Private Stock, they were completely out as well with regular Captain Morgan. Both had been restocked when we checked back an hour later. There is not a lot of room for liquor in that little section of the store and a ton of people were taking advantage of the discounted booze (us included).

After getting some quick tips from Steve I was ready to put some chips down at the craps table. When someone is rolling hot, there probably isn't a better casino game. But you can also lose pretty quick. Had our ups and downs and ended up a little ahead. Cass and Cindy were off having way too much of a good time. It was closing in on 2 am and we decided we should head back to the room to pack. Fortunately that did not take very long and I was out as soon as my head hit the pillow.

It seemed like the alarm went off 5 minutes later and we both forced ourselves to get up. We left the room shortly after 8 and they were already letting Platinum guests off. Cass went to get us some orange juice and apparently the Lido buffet was packed. I'm sure a lot of people were just hanging around as virtually everyone drove to the port. We disembarked as soon as she got back and the process was as easy as ever. They didn't even care to look at our passports, just took our customs form and we were off (damn, should've gotten more than our allotted 2 bottles of booze!). We were home shortly before 9 (by far the earliest we've ever been home from the Pride) and I saw that there was a package on our steps......

Our Rontourage shirts!!! (and yes, that is a life size Hellboy bust in the background...hence my screen name :D)

Nothing helps the post cruise blues like knowing you'll be back on a ship in less than 3 weeks :D.
