River cruising in India?

Received a brochure yesterday from an Australian agent about a river cruise on the Brahamputra River in western India. No background on the operator, Far Horizon Tours.

 

Anyone with information on Indian river cruises?

I have to be totally honest with you I have never heard of a river cruise in India. I know they go to Asia and the Far East.

I found two companies that sail this river. Assam Bengal Navigation and Oberoi, I know nothing about either.

Assam Bengal Navigation have some ordinary reviews on Trip Advisor for Indian river cruises. Possibly they cruise the Ganges as well as the Brahamputra. The reviewers were aggrieved but not specific about destinations.

 

I will check on Oberoi.

 

The boat and the operating company can change names without improving their product.
