kids formal wear

I usually buy formal wear for my boys from The Children's Place. They have some fantastic sales where you can get dress shirts for $1-2 on clearance, and I once bought a new blue blazer for $20. I am always looking for dress pants, so I usually buy them either at the consignment store or Gymboree's $6.99 balloon sale in the summer. I know that doesn't help you now *grin*, but if you plan on cruising regularly it can help immensely.

I'm from the uk but if you see any good priced stuff on eBay from brands like Next, Marks and Spencer or Monsoon, they are always a good bet pre-owned as they are good quality. All three make lovely linen suits with waistcoats or jackets and other formal wear. I have sold stuff I bought in the US on UK eBay so maybe it happens in reverse?

We bought a Tux from Amazon.com for our 1 year old boy last year for about $25. In retrospect, it was probably the best $25 we have spent on his cloths.

He was the HIT of the dinning room on the 2 formal nights. He wouldn't wear the shoes, but the the tux had tails and a little cumberbun. The pictures and memories are awsome.

I've gotten formal wear from Ross for little boys for under $20 for the whole set (I think the last set I got was like $12!!!). Its usually pants, a dress shirt, vest and clip-on tie.

http://www.thelittlesewingshop.com makes tuxedo shirts as well as formal wear. None is up on the website at the moment, but if you click "contact us" and send a message, they do custom work all the time, so you can get exactly what you want and in the colors/size/style you want and whatnot. Its cute stuff!

We did the Tie and Vest Combo, since our "Traveling GingerTot", Kinley (16mo), did not 'fit' into the suits... I would have had to buy each peice seperate to get a good fit. I found a several cute dressy peices at Childrens Place...

I did One pair of navy slacks, One white oxford, and a tie with Sailboats then also had a White button down with anchors and a tie with anchors as well. We did the (adorable) Sailor Suit one night too.
