MAHO and MARIGOT, Water taxi

Hello,

UNLESS WE'RE MISSING SOMETHING FABULOUS....

 

We are going to this port in January, have been before, and have decided to play it chill and go to Maho for several hours, have a drink (afternoon) and Marigot for a few hours (again, shop, eat, etc) in the morning.

1. Worth the tour? I think maybe not.

2. How much is the water taxi? Is that truly a viable option St. Philipsburg to Marigot vs. paying $18 taxi?

Too bad we're not sailing the same time, my DH and I are planning the same thing in a couple of weeks. I'm planning to catch the bus to Marigot (I read that is $2/pp) then taxi to Maho.

 

Any other ideas are appreciated!

The water taxi does not go to Marigot.

So what is your suggestion to go to both Marigot and Maho kind of on our own time schedule? Taxis? I guess in the end, it still might be cheaper than $40pp plus tip for a tour...

I prefer going on our own schedule so for 2 people I think taking taxis is cheaper and easier than renting a car when you don't know the island.
