Word has it that you need to book early, preferably as soon as you board. Also be prepared for a big sales pitch. Just read another thread today that someone purchased $1500 "worth" of products:eek: :eek: :eek:. I'm afraid I'd be hitchhiking home. Other posters have been booking at resorts at ports of call for much less than onboard.

In my experience, the services usually run about $10 - $20 more than I would pay at home, depending where. Here I can get a massage for anywhere from $55 to $95 for an hour.

You have to make reservations - walk ups are not accepted. Appointments (especially for up-do's on formal nights and some massage treatments) book up fast, so be prepared and have a couple of different day and times in mind for your treatment(s).

The $$$ spa services require a reservation.

The steam room and sauna are free, separate facilities for men/women. There's also a hot tub (usually empty, not that hot) and this strange pool where you can swim in place.

You can ask for the "drink of the day", the specific beverage is listed in Capers. With the souvenir cup it costs extra.

Tipping is not included in the price of your spa treatments. You can add the tip onto your Sail and Sign card. A tip of 15% is normal.

Hubby was sweet and bought me the foot and ankle massage for $40...so I trot up there...sit down in the hair styling place, she 'massages' my feet and ankles for about thirty minutes, jabbers to people walking by, answers questions of people walking by, applies some lotion, tries to sell me the $60 bottle of lotion and then I am on my merry way. I didn't have the heart to tell him that it was not worth it...but I'll tell everyone here.

You can double some of the treatment prices, some of them aren't offered at all, there are a LOT of new treatments with big dollar tags, and some are about the same price. I wish I could remember.

 

I wish I had a price list...I just know they kept sticking 'specials' in my box. That is the way to go, especially towards the end of the cruise. What hubby paid for my 'foot massage', I could have gotten a 'mini cocktail' of three treatments.

jsut got off the miracle on 5/22 wife and friedn went to spa for two treatments seaweed wrap/half body message and regualr full body massage. the seaweed wrap/half body massage was 200.00 with tip included, or the seaweed/fullbody was about 240.00 i beleive, they said it was nice, however not the best. this was also for a day at sea so prices were a little higher. Then on a port day they did the full body massage for like 80.00 they claimed this was the best massage they had ever had, and both of them attend the spa a few times a year for massages.. So for them they say it was money well spent...

Frozen foo- foo drinks in the sovernier cup will cost you 4.95 plus 15% gratuity. (14oz) If this is what you will be drinking- I suggest the carnival drink coupons that you buy off their web site before you leave. (you can not buy these on the ship. It only saves about 50 cents but it prepays your bar bill. If you just want a regular drink of the day (8oz) its 2.95 plus gratutiy.

 

My favorite is Dirty banana- it tastes like a frozen choc banana,

Before any of the services start tell them you dont want any of their products and you dont want to hear a sales pitch after the treatment is over. You can also mention that any tips will be based on their compliance with your wishes :)

this was how they were on the sensation as well. i was not allowed to use my drink coupons for those. i ended up just using them for a glass of wine at dinner or a daiquiri later... and my favorite was the "kiss on the lips" YUM!

Yes, the sovernier cup you will buy the first day and use the same cup all week for a refill. The drink itself is 4.95 as long as you use the same glass.
