Lovin Cruisin1321 Posted May 26, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 26, 2005 I have a 16yr old daughter who wants a ship that has more teenage activities like climbing walls, fun pools, teen night with "good" music. Alot of the ships promote teenage activities, but they really aren't that good. What ship has alot of activities and fun things to do?
AmyinGA Posted May 26, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 26, 2005 Princess doesn't have climbing walls and the pool are just pools. If you want to go with Princess I think the best "teen cruise" would be on a Grand class ship doing one of the 7 night Carib. cruises. That's how you are going to have more teens on the ship and more planned activities for them.
Lovin Cruisin1321 Posted May 26, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted May 26, 2005 That's what I was afraid of. My daughter wants to go to Europe, but wants a ship with more teens on it. We were trying to book a Greek Isle trip. Any other cruise lines you would suggest?
OhioDogLover Posted May 27, 2005 #4 Share Posted May 27, 2005 We have children approximately the same age you do. They enjoy cruising and usually meet up with some other similiarly aged kids on the ship. They have been happy on cruises to Europe, the Caribbean and Alaska. It has been our experience that there are always other teenage children on those ships. That having been said, their favorite activity on the Alaska cruise was decorating, naming, etc., the horse for the horseracing. If the cruise you select has that activity, I would suggest that you consider purchasing a horse and letting the kids do their thing. They will have fun and then can watch it race from the owners' box.
Toto2Kansas Posted May 27, 2005 #5 Share Posted May 27, 2005 During the summer months (when school is out) there will be an abundance of teens and children on Princess ships. Admittedly, the more exotic or costly the itineary, the fewer children there are. But I still feel there would be enough for your daughter to make lots of friends onboard. I do agree though, make sure if you sail with Princess that you choose a Grand Class ship, there just isn't enough for a teen on the smaller ships. If you are looking for things like rock climbing walls etc, you might try the Royal Caribbean Board. They offer activites like that where Princess does not. Best of Luck, I hope you find the perfect cruise that suits you both.
wrp96 Posted May 27, 2005 #6 Share Posted May 27, 2005 If you aren't against going RCCI, they are sending Voyager to Europe in 2006, which has the rock climbing wall, et.c
